‘Numb’ is a song characterized by its mono-rhythmic hypnotic bass line and fuzz-soaked guitar sounds, accompanied by a fierce discharge of subversive lyrics. The song was written in early 2020 when protests took place in #Athens and other cities worldwide against incompetent and authoritarian Covid-19 prevention measures, such as nationwide curfews. It is not about conservatism and conspiracy theories but about the powerlessness of individuals against state terrorism. It is about the inability of people to maintain their freedom of speech and protect their fundamental human rights against police brutality, driven by government measures that lack scientific evidence and enforce strict obedience at the expense of personal freedom and science.

The song is also a tribute to one of our favorite bands, PinkFloyd, with the title and the opening words of the two verses hinting at ‘Comfortably numb,’ which appeared on Pink Floyd’s eleventh album, The Wall (1979).

Virus

The Perish Agreement is a rock and electronic music band. Their love for science and retro synthesizers is coupled with fuzz-soaked guitar riffs and heavy drums. Their thematic approaches are arrayed in introspective and existential poetic lyricism that addresses issues of political unrest, climate justice, and self-reflection, often portrayed in song structures that escape the conventional verse-chorus form. 

Formed as a duo in 2018, in Utrecht, The Netherlands, by KRAAB🎸🎤 and Demian🎸🎹🎤 and transformed into a power trio in 2021, with the addition of Zuma🥁🎸🎤

The single release of ‘Numb’ (2022) widened their thematology with its fierce discharge of subversive lyrics about the powerlessness of individuals against state terrorism that enforces strict obedience at the expense of personal freedom and science.

The debut concept album 'Metamorphosis' (2021) poetically transgresses between angst and optimism in a dialogue of the self and the observing self while using the butterfly's metamorphosis as a metaphor. The butterfly develops through metamorphosis. While in isolation, inside the chrysalis, a major change is happening. When struggling in isolation, consider this a stage of escaping your old self to emerge as something new🦋

In 2020, their debut single 'Virus'  foreshadowed the confrontation of ex-President Trump by a different adversary; written at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the lyrics portray an opponent of science confronted by a force of nature.
