Wash Me Away

The Piano Axioms are an indie rock band based in Central New Jersey. Drawing frequently from folk, their music occasionally dips into grunge, blues, and jazz on occasion.

The Piano Axioms first formed with singer Karuna Sangam, keyboardist Aditya Ballal, and bassist Carley Mullin in March 2020, right as COVID-19 began to pick up. Finding creative ways to collaborate despite the need to stay distant, the band began writing and recording music. Drummer Danielle Slavis and guitarist Kendi Bailey joined soon afterwards, filling out the sound and bringing their unique talents and musical perspectives.

Their music delves into a wide variety of topics, from mental health and trauma, to stories that explore a variety of human experiences - often with LGBTQ+ themes. Their debut single, “Wash Me Away,” deals with the loneliness of childhood trauma and the struggles of articulating one’s experiences.
