I woke up on a normal day
Checked my phone CNN on my twitter feed
Another day another tragic scene
Suspicions as to why we're not surprised
Are we as numb as it truly seems?
Last weeks breaking news is our new routine

Is this a normal day?

A glock 22 was the only way
(What can we do?)
Will we ever see a normal day?

Why am I scared to drive my Saturn Ion?
Always looking over my shoulder
The actions of a few they've got me wondering
If you and I will ever see another 'normal' day 

Is pessimism really the short view of life?
Because in light of current times, being pessimistic is normal right?
Are we desensitized to the sights we've seen?
Or are we not concerned because it hasn't happened to me
