~ Anhanguera [Brazil] ~

The Anhanguera project comes from the work of the underground Brazilian duo Dudu Palandre and Décio Deep who decided to unite forces back in 2004. Over the past decades, they have established themselves as genuine house heads claiming that house music is their religion and that they have always been loyal to it, no matter what the fashion has been. Their pure dedication to funky bass lines and jackin grooves led them to release tracks on respectable labels such as Robsoul, Glitterbox (Defected) or Guesthouse, but also to design their own one Maracuja. That being said, expect them to mix new and old house/disco/techno records because good music is timeless and styleless. As producers, they reached new heights in 2018 when their track Cirandisco won the first place in the Traxsource’s chart of new disco. If they no longer have anything to prove at a national scale with frequent appearances in local clubs (by the way, they are holding residency at D-EDGE) and festivals, they have also already toured beyond frontiers, performing with house music legends like DJ Sneak, Mark Farina or Derrick Carter.

Their mix is juste like them: sexy, groovy and driving. Harmoniously spinning records from Jimpster, Juan McLean or KiNK, they remind us what true house music looks like. We recommend you to listen to this while sunbathing!

Toolate Groove figures among the brilliant new wave of artists who got heavily inspired by breaks, soul, jazz, blues, but above all by the golden 90s house music from the other side of the Atlantic. The Brussels-based producer and DJ is on a lifelong mission to learn the best out of that timeless music to keep this old grooves alive for the future generations. And there is no coincidence: he started playing piano at a very young age and got his career start 3 years ago when he discovered the pivotal role of piano in house music. When it comes to production, the listening ears out there will very likely recognize straight influences from Chicago, New York and Detroit legends such as Chez Damier, Kerri Chandler, Theo Parish or Moodymann. First, take hard-hitting house beats. Second, add circumspect and dreamy piano notes. Third, dust it with joyful garage vocals. Here’s his secret recipe to produce sophisticated and lively house music. To fully express his creativity, Toolate Groove co-founded Cosmic Breeze Records, which he defines like a soulful-based emotion and borderless label focusing on exploring naturals sounds, atmospheric dreamy vibes and hypnotic grooves. All that being said, he has now been resident at the well-known Belgian club La Cabane.

This one-hour mix flawlessly sums up what we have just described above: expect 100% dreamy, rousing and eloquent 90s and modern house grooves from Groove Boys Project, Eddie Perez or Korda. This is a lightning trip to the roots of house music.

Mézigue (meaning ‘me’ in Parisian slang) is one of the rarest bird and freest spirit when it comes to the French electronic music scene. Off-the-wall leading figure of the house made in Paris, he is particularly known for breaking genre codes with ridiculous energy. Co-founder of the D.KO Records team in 2013, he acts in favor of a powerful and festive house revival alongside equally talented buddies like LB aka LABAT, Mad Rey or Paul Cut. They started as a DJ crew organizing the Keep D.KO Alive parties in local bars before quickly gaining recognition and becoming one of the top house labels in France. As a producer, he owes his early success to his banger track ‘Du Son Pour Les Gars Sûrs’ in 2016 - utterly distinctive of his personal touch: a bass-driven house with subtile deep, lo-fi and acid notes. No wonder that he got his well-deserved Boiler Room in 2019. He has been unstoppable lately and earned a residency called “Mezmère Résidence” at the iconic Rex Club where he invited top talents such as Funkineven, DMX Krew or AliA. If you are luck enough to see him play, expect a crazy oscillation of house, disco, hip-hop and drum & bass.

In this 3-year anniversary mix, he’s going back to the basics distilling a gut-wrenching deep house with pleasant acid touches from Willow or Birds of Canada. The summer season has never been so properly opened guys!

After finally quitting his job in 2010, the Mancunian xxxy decided to take up music full time for the enjoyment of all house heads. Initially finding his first love into the Dubstep movement under the moniker Forensix +15 years ago, it’s only a few years later that he weaved his way into electronic music. Heavily influenced by his UK roots, he strives to share his modern take on garage cross rhythms and dubby bass lines, against a backdrop of galvanic 4x4 house and classic techno jams. His unparalleled music has quickly found a warming home with labels Ten Thousand Yen and Rinse. He also own the famous record label Sour Edits, which is a seamless oasis of gold for the house and disco lovers out there (sampley and bouncey tracks from Tom Jay, Marcin Krupa or Braga Circuit). Claiming to be into all sorts of music genres and constantly fighting boredom, his DJing style avoids any functionality in favor of something a little more immersive than a simple dance floor cut. Thanks to his utter mastery behind the decks, the Berlin-based wizard has been featured on Boiler Room for 3 years in a row in 2010, 2011 and 2012. 

Today’s mix enthusiastically reflects his eclecticism when it comes to selecting tracks and make people uncontrollably dance. Cultivating vivacious house beats from Black Loops, Ricky Razu or Big Saldo, let’s frenetically boogie under the sunny weather!

Adelphi Music Factory is a collective of three talented guys, both producers and DJs, hailing from the center of UK rave culture: Sheffield. Growing up there had a gigantic impact on them specifically when it comes to music. First, their crew name originates from two local venerated clubs. Then, most of their tracks take their titles from famous Sheffield clubs, such as Rise, Jive Turkey or NY Sushi. No need to say that the Steel City always calls home. Those guys are purveyors of contemporary, uplifting and addictive house music pumpers, usually perfect treats for wild nights. The monstrous percussions, euphoric piano jams and bouncing beats typify brotherhood, freedom and peace, with the one and only aim to bring people together to dance. The banger tunes on Shall Not Fade or their own imprint Beat Factory have been quickly picking up plenty of acclaim from the the crème de la crème house artists, including The Blessed Madonna, Gerd Janson, Cinthie or Annie Mac. No wonder they have already been reputed nationally with a stellar 2021 debut tour in traditional venues like Field Day, Pickle Factory or Printworks.

Today, they are literally blessing us with a blissful and spellbinding house, bringing modern vibes from Paul Johnson, Sally C or Kettama. Honestly, this sounds like the only proper way to close the summer season.

Jun Kamoda is an Kyoto-based DJ and producer who has long been fervently contributing to Japan’s electronic music scene. Starting as a member of Hip Hop trio Baleine 3000 and under the Illreme moniker 15 years ago, he made his true debuts with ‘The Clay’ EP in 2016. Being quickly supported by Mall Grab - who played his track ‘Physical Graffiti’ in his Boiler Room the same year and later invited him to release a track on his imprint Steel City Dance Discs - helped him build a reputation overseas. Actually, Jun’s musical style is indefinable as he’s always drifting between house and electro stressing broken and unpredictable drums and breaks you would have never imagined. Speaking of which, his recent track 'Escape the Night' has been featured on Resident Advisor’s list of July’s Best Music last year. If his effervescent sounds fittingly found home on quality labels like Mister Saturday Night, Dirt Crew Recordings or Black Acre, he didn’t lose his ambition to found his own one Jun Records that has already welcomed new talented artists such as Luksek and XTAL. To top things off, the man is also a cartoon illustrator for Japanese independent magazine Usca.

Once again, Jun Kamoda sits where you don’t expect him as the mix surprisingly oscillates between house, disco, and acid, bringing tracks from Roman Flügel, Daphni, or dj poolboi into focus for the enjoyment of all ages.

Ricky Razu is one of those fast-rising talents who have been contributing to growing the Belgian house music scene over the last decade. When he’s not busy running his vintage furniture shop, you can very likely find him cook upbeat and sun-soaked house in his studio. At the beginning, he reckoned being more into downtempo and jazzy sounds but always having a huge love for house and club music, which drove him to put his music out there with premieres on well-known house Youtube channels like Slav, Houseum or OOUkfunkyOO. Heavily inspired by soul, jazz, funk and disco music, Ricky’s swing is quite unique with an accurate and tasty fusion between yesterday’s golden era classics and today’s club bangers. In short, expect splendid organs and piano chords enriched with powerful vocals. Besides, being a cornerstone of Singaporean crew Darker Than Wax enabled him to build a solid international presence behind with gigs in Europe, the US and Asia. His releases on Houseum, 13th Hour Records, or Happiness Therapy have quickly garnered early support from the likes of Jeremy Underground, Bellaire or Subjoi.

The mix will undoubtedly take you through and on a true house music journey, with lots of 90's and deeper unknown tunes to dig from Val-Air, Larry Tee or Drums in Progress. Be ready to navigate through deep vibes and club material.

With his stripped-down emotional love for music and kind soul, Leipzig-bound beatsmith and all round top geezer Luvless has been steadily cementing his reputation as one of contemporary house music’s finest. The deep house music he’s constantly cooking is a true delight for the ears mind, the body and the soul as it sounds like an undefinable timeless trip. He is mostly known for his work with Rose Records – a label he started with four other friends back in 2011 – and a smattering of appearances on several other labels, slamming down dusty disco edits as well as athomspheric house belters. Since 2017 he’s been focussing on his new project Velours Records, a vinyl outlet for different avenues of the Luvless sound and guest appearances by friends. His music has been described as sweet, gentle even, but banging at the same time. It sometimes pays homage to the old Kerry days with extra magic dust sprinkled on top. You could listen to his products on such labels as Razor-N-Tape, Lüüd Disc or Blaq Numbers and many more.

 

Loyal to himself in this 1-hour mix, Luvless is slowly transitioning from slow-paced deep house beats to mesmerizing house vibes from DJ Psychiatre, Baltra or Benjamin Long. Perfect vibes for the incoming cold winter and end of the year.

Next up on plastic/vibes is the multi-talented meggy; an artist who wears all the hats, being a DJ, producer and vocalist at the same time. Her artistic journey is at the opposite of what you could define as standard, from slipping at underage into Berlin’s Tresor to nailing it at Boiler Room in 2015, by way of casually singing on electronic music tracks. Over the years, her style has been majestically developing halfway between R&B-trained vocals and spot-on melodious house, invariably endorsing an unescapable but pleasant emotional and intense atmosphere. While pitching her soft and enthralling voice to tunes from Till Von Sein, Rampa or Fritz Kalkbrenner, she has also been a regular dealer of stellar records to Suol label, which now feels like home to her. Having said all that, no wonder she is now regularly having gigs in Berlin’s most respected venues (Zur Wilden Renate, ://about blank or IPSE) and across borders, sharing the stage with top-flight house names.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the dazzling mix she has tenderly worked up, unearthing underground tunes from Paradiso Rhythm, DJ Sports or DJ Lettuce.
