Roul Gomez is a lecturer in Politics at the University of Liverpool. He specialises in voting behaviour and left wing politics. 
This interview is a good introduction to the events in Catalonia which will be discussed into more detail in the following podcasts. 
He describes the events that led to the referendum the strike and the police violence as well as the positions of the main actors and parties involved.

Catalonia 1: Raul Gomez

David Whyte is a lecturer in Sociology at the University of Liverpool. 
He went over to Catalonia in the period following the referendum and has written a few articles about the independence movement, the police violence and the strike for the Guardian and Red Pepper.
