After showing up in our label a few years ago with the Coordenadas (EP) from 2020 and including a track in our Fractals (Various Artists) from 2023, it’s now time for Saurio (@felipeparraga) to release a full album.

This body of work comprises eight tracks, representing the “all killer no filler” concept at its best. A proper collection of dancefloor hurters, administered at an adult BPM rate, full of intelligence and details, sometimes sci-fi and synthetic, sometimes funky and shuffled, sometimes linear and hypnotic, but always preserving the fundamental techno roots all over.

Alpha Dracos and the sinister vocal sample opens fire, sharing space with assorted bleeps and a full on groove.

Second cut Andromedans is a proper sci-fi techno tool with complex resonant lines, micro drones and a relentless rhythm.

Number three Zeta Reticulans gives another view on the sci-fi approach, more club focused and more obsessive in the sound recipe. Ideal for the peak time hours on any decent club.

Lyrans puts an eye into Detroit roots but mixed with the industrial madness of the Birmingham sound, this one will make serious damage out there.

Atlanteas is a merciless weapon, again using sinister voices and a white noise washes to ignite the formula. But the hidden melody is the secret here to provide the required trance.

Sirians provides the hi tech funk, with samples, futuristic vocals, punchy bleeps and video game sounds. Proper jacking techno.

Orionians go dreamy and floaty but still preserving the danceable pulse, this one is ideal to bring some soul into darkened dancefloors.

Arcturians closes this epic collection of tunes bringing the minimal soul to the equation and demonstrating that there’s still life in techno, you just have to give some love to your tools.

hypnoskull is part of the global anti-music conspiracy networkTM (since 1992) (for releases - check www.ant-zen.com)  Hypnoskull was created in 1992 as a solo project in order to experiment in the area of electronic noise combined with rhythmical structures. In the first years of its existence, Hypnoskull was releasing cassettes and tracks on international labels in the so-called cassette network, a widely spread network of independent and experimental musicians and artists who expressed themselves throughout limited tape releases often including artworks, ideas, texts. In 1998, hypnoskull signed to the German label ant-zen and up to today he is still releasing his albums on this highly influential record label. That is not a coincidence: ant-zen stands for ‘anti-zensur’ (anti-censorship), one of the main starting points of the provocative hypnoskull project. Patrick Stevens does not limit himself to just producing music as such, albums always include a severe message, a thought-provoking underlying concept text, questions. The main philosophy: ‘the dance floors, the clubs, the festivals,… are staged warzones with a different set of rules – a therapeutic zone where hidden anger and even aggression of both the artists as well as the spectators can be released in a proper, human way. Music as a means to open up the deepest anger inside human beings, letting it out in a way which is not harmful to others. A strange symbiosis between the two worlds Patrick Stevens is a part of: the techno and the industrial scene. Techno being a genre promoting a peaceful yet hedonistic way of life, industrial on the other hand being a highly nihilistic, philosophic but pitch black reflection on society. The mix of both musical as well as content wise elements of these genres result in what hypnoskull is all about. Added to this an explosive mixture of post-war and contemporary western subversive philosophy – in a rather impulsive manner – makes the project what it is today, after +25 years of existence.
