I feel like this is one of the vibiest and also most special tracks I’ve put out in a while. It’s named for my one month old daughter. It’s also named for my wife, whose middle name is Zenoviea. And it was released today, on our fifth wedding anniversary (time flies!). When I was composing this track my wife was nearing the end of her third trimester. She would come in the room and close her eyes and listen to me work on it for a long time (which she doesn’t always do - too much mouse clicking according to her 😅). But this one was really relaxing for her at that moment and I think it’s a sign it was for Zenoviea too. They are both the most important things to me in the world, and this song is for them.

I recently moved to a new city, leaving behind four years of memories, including some serious life changes and lifelong friends. It truly is bittersweet, as I am excited for this next chapter, but will miss all of the people and moments in time that I left behind. I made this song to reflect those feelings, and remind myself it's not goodbye for good... it's just goodbye for now.

For this track I used the famous sample used in J Dilla's "Bye" off of Donuts. I really got an appreciation for how Dilla chopped his samples during this project.

On this track, there were no samples used. I took the chords progression of one of my favorite Nujabes tracks, Tsurugi no mai, and recreated it, then built layers around it in my own style.
