He's a New York based theatre artist, poet, songwriter, educator, producer and one of NYC’s premiere…. human beatbox/vocal percussionists…who.produces the American Beat Boxing Championships and beat boxing events all over the world.

Beatboxing is an internationally recognized art form. It's taken Chesney from growing up poor in Wisconsin and Chicago,  onto the stage at Carnegie Hall where just a few months ago he headlined a performance with the godfather of A Cappella… Deke Sharon for a show called Total Vocal. 

Last year Chesney was a visiting Artist at Harvard University’s Learning from Performers program.

He co-executive produced and stars in the award-winning feature documentary film American Beatboxer which was presented at Harvard University for the 2014-2015 academic calendar by the Office of the Arts and the Graduate School of Education.

American Beatboxer was recently placed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Library and Archives establishing it as one of Hip Hop's classic music documentary films and continues to screen at film festivals internationally. 

I talk to Ches about falling in love with Storytelling listening to the Slick Rick album he stole from his fathers music collection; How getting booed off stage  was a major development in his journey; How his Introduction to theatre, performing Othello, became the relationship that drove him into wanting to create professionally.

Beat boxing wasn’t something he was thinking about doing for a living until after moving  to NY to be an actor, and he couldn’t get a job.

Performing spoken word & beat boxing was a way to distinguish himself an artist.
