Welcome to our latest Il Modo Exclusive Series, February 2024.   This month we welcome CASSAR, from Manchester England. "Where did my love for underground dance music start ? I’d have to point to being into ‘the Prodigy’ initially in my early teens - Who wasn’t? Their music was groundbreaking and crossed many genres - plus they were always on the news for misbehaving - what’s not to like? ‘Music for the Jilted Generation’ being the album that really ‘grabbed’ me. This soon progressed into coming across ‘Underworld’ & ‘The Chemical Brothers’ as they were now becoming ‘mainstream’ with big albums and anthemic tracks around mid 90’s (I’d still not left school yet!). Then I hit my first underground event, aged 17, at ‘Colors’ in June 1998 in Manchester.... watching Carl Cox in a concrete carpark banging out industrial techno with laser beams, smoke machines & strobes galore… .…that was me hooked!! I’m in!!  

I soon started to hit Gatecrasher, Cream and a bit later Sankeys on a frequent basis, coming across trance but more interested in the trance/prog crossovers that were there for the more discerning. This then soon moved into more serious music becoming a full on ‘Prog Head’ around 1999 - which only meant one thing back then - it was only a matter of time before I fell under the SASHA spell - and boy did I!!!  A spell that is still at work today.  No DJ has ever made me feel like ‘The Man-Like’ has over the last 26 years of raving and he’s responsible for much of the good times in my life - And for that I can only ever be nothing but grateful.  DJing or producing, he gets to the bottom of my musical  consciousness - It’s a soul thing…you know the rest…"

From 1997 to present day, I’ve been to many, many  dancefloors, all over the world.  My passion is strong and unwavering as is the case for many of my friends I’ve met along the way - Il Modo’s Niamh & Neale being two of the best. So it’s an honour for them to let me ‘do my thing’ for 90-mins for IL MODO this weekend."

Hello and welcome to the Exclusive Series (with Subcode) Featuring the skills and talents of Dublin's unique trio of Electronic music artists, Fusion Underground.

Each month we highlight each of our DJ's Glenn Molloy/Gorgonoize, Soulfinder and Khakra, with a 2 hour set aired every 4th Thursday of the month.

This month, February, it is back to Glenn Molloy, Gorgonoize for yet another outstanding 2 hours, packed full of dancefloor bangers ...

Glenn Molloy is a Dublin-based DJ/producer specialising in melodic house and techno (as Gorgonoize). A fan of the scene since as far back as he can remember, sneaking into his brother's room to listen to rave mixtapes as a kid!

To Glenn, the transition from clubbing to DJing occurred fluidly and naturally, and he soon began to work as a resident DJ for a number of city centre venues, gaining warm up gigs for national festivals, and a weekly radio show on TWO of Dublin’s best underground stations over time.

Glenn is now collaborating with fellow Dubliners Soulfinder and Khankra on an events brand called Fusion Underground and is finally realising his ambitions. He releases multi genre music under his two aliases on OLD SQL, Mirabilis, Pro B-Tech, Opilec, Anomaly, Dissident, and last but not least, the world renowned Perfecto Black, whose owner Paul Oakenfold has also been known to drop Glenn's tracks in his radio shows.

Glenn also has a new release on Lonya's renowned Asymetric label, and has had his tracks featured on the label boss's Floating Point sets, as well as support from Djs like Niki Sadeki for Manual music, and several guest mixes on Frisky too. The future is bright, enjoy the mix!

Welcome to the May 2024 episode of ZZGO Radio!

I don't know about you, but my month of May was jam packed.  The highlight was Burning Flipside, an official regional Burning Man event held just north of Austin, Texas.  I was there as the sound and stage lead for my Burning Man camp Cosmic Creatures, and I also debuted my new large scale art project, the Cosmic Zome.  As I've mentioned in prior episodes, this was a portable 20 foot (6 meter) wide dome that stood 13 feet (4 meters) tall with 84 individual panels.  Inside I had three projectors displaying a bunch of graphics and people could lay down on pillows and blankets and just chill out and watch the show.  I'd like to give a huge shout out to my Houston and Austin based Cosmic Creatures crew that helped build, set up, and tear down the structure for the event.  I could not have done it without you.  Words really don't do it justice, so check out my Instagram in the next few days for some pictures and videos.

For anyone who missed or wants to listen back, this is our set before Henry Saiz early evening at our Prog Lab Summer Party in Bristol. 

This was a superb night of music from 4pm, with great sets from Matt Bird B2b Xpanda playing groovy prog and house, Lloyd Barwood was brilliant before us, before Henry took us on one of his beautiful journeys, Emi Galvan then wowed us with one of the best sets at our nights and Jeremy Olander played a superb closing set and kept the crowd going until the end.  Our next one is 12th October, keep an eye out on our socials mid August.
