TR Tactics, the producer and DJ duo from Austria, have been storming up a lot of people’s lists of artists to watch in 2014. After releases on Citrus, Disturbed and Dissected Culture, they drop ABREC07 on Addictive Behaviour, their latest and greatest work to date.

Addictive are one of the most forward thinking labels out there, always allowing the talent and dedication of their artists to shine through, and Time Slice/Cone is no exception. After their success in the D&B Arena remix competition, and a series of amazing releases, the duo are definitely on the rise.

Time Slice starts off as a dark, ominous roller, full of atmosphere and deep level vibes. The beats drop in when you least expect them, charging head long into some very dangerous territory. Switching electronics accompany the drop, where forceful bass comes right at you, shaking the ground with its intensity. A real builder, the amazing lengths the producers have gone to are realised in full when you give this one your full attention. Feel the power of Time Slice as it unfolds around you, reminding you how all of the buzz about TR Tactics is perfectly justified. A seriously essential piece of music.

Shades of orange bathe the streets in the neon glow of night. Under the artificial dome of the city, light from the dense urban landscape wraps itself against the overwhelming facades of towering habitats and server blocks, intermingling at the edges of imperceptible alleyways shrouded in darkness only broken by the flickering nocturnal emblems of deep night haunts of sleaze and virtual hedonism. The twins are at home here, every edge of the city mapped in their hybrid cerebellum, connected exquisitely with inter-dimensional technology stolen from the most intimate grasp of the AI governing the sprawl. Shattering the silence of the night with the abrasive roar of refined combustion and the precisely engineered mechanisms of their vehicles, the streets fly beneath them - acting as one, every corner taken with nothing to spare, utterly in the present - surgeons of the moment. The drones giving chase have no chance, unable to compensate for the perfectly calculated errors of humanity, every recalibration coming too late - THE CHASE is relentless and swift ... the immaculate pair vanish into the dense depths of the labyrinthine underworld with their haul of sonic artifacts.

The pathways of Yggdrasil flowed across the vast expanse of the cosmos, reaching to every corner of the universe - interlinking the many realms of their overlords and anchoring Midgard to its fate. The airborne servants of Odin encircled the earth, their ever-watchful synthetic eyes cast down at the servile humans below. So simple, without knowledge of their essential place in the greater sphere – the victims of relentless experimentation as their genes were cast and engineered, their greatest warriors brutally locked with primitive force against one another, as splice after splice refined their innermost nature into a limitless purity of violence. They gave up their eyes in the quest for real vision, gave up their souls to match the black pits of their sockets, twisted and contorted in an endless orgy of bloodshed until only the strongest remained. They who were blind to their humanity, stripped of virtue, naked against the vast heavens above, enshrouded in the entrails of their enemies. In the aftermath of each assault, under the watchful eyes of their offworld shepherds, they gathered their strength again and prepared for the next INVASION.

The DUB ELEMENTS duo return to the expansive EATBRAIN label in force, following up their 2 track pincer movement with ‘POW’ and ‘Shots Fired’ on the Mirror Universe compilation with their first full release - the INVASION EP. A shadow fell with bleak weight against the broken cityscape as the towering frame of the scaled behemoth stood above the now desolate metropolis. Cold eyes flickered within the recesses of its heavy skull, surveying its fragmented and twisted domain for any remnants of the fleshy morsels of the living who had once resided there. Beneath its talons shifted stone and metal, groaning under its weight in a cacophanus lament for what had been. It lumbered forward through the carnage of the city, led by its singular mind, barely noticing as each thundering step felled the last vestiges of that once grand city around it. This city on the rocky plain, a pinnacle of the species that built it, now laid to waste by this overwhelming titan of entropy and fury. The towering skyline collapsed around the beast as it effortlessly shifted and demolished with single sweeps of its tail. Issuing a howling, guttural roar of pure, brutal energy, its inhuman rage resounded throughout the city, angular audio reflections bouncing across the broken buildings and striking fear deep into the hearts of those who still clung to a wretched life. They haunted the shadows, hiding from the its ravenous hunger, hidden away in fear amongst the crumbling concrete. With a burst of sudden fury the beast twisted, striking at a skyscraper and tearing it open, spilling the mess of its insides and the once precious multitude of human things across the streets below. But missing was the softness of the meal it craved. It lumbered onward, the strange paths which this insignificant species had laid, leading it through the decaying land... a constant drive for flesh feeding its voracious desire - that endless, unfillable void. Its stride echoed with the ominous assurance of recurrence, its cycle of consumption would begin anew.

It was nighttime again. The girl hated nighttime, for its ability to warp even the most innocuous of shapes into sinister forms was the bane of her fragile psyche. As dusk fell and her family trundled off to sleep, she found herself drifting into the same familiar cycle of psychosis, wherein she would find not the rest and respite which others gained from sleep but rather a fight for survival against the forces of her mind. Knowing this, the girl sighed, and set to her vigil against the dark. It was always the same no matter what she did. She would stay up long into the morning’s early hours, under the blessing of electric light until the same useless body that catalyzed her anxious fears began to falter under the weight of passing time, demanding that she submit to the machinations of her own horrific mind. In turning off the lights, she would enter into a second phase, one perhaps most sinister of all, in which the objects of the house sprang to life in the umbral depths of night.

Herein moved shadows with impossible forms, at once standing out from and blending into the darkness that was their home. Try as she might, the girl could not make sense of them, and attempts to do so only seemed to multiply their numbers. They had never harmed her… yet, but she wondered if it was only her utmost devotion to watching their movements that kept them at bay. Worse yet was the fact that sleep would grab hold of her soon, making her vulnerable, easy prey. With lethargic frenzy she would attempt to maintain her watch, following their forms as her eyes closed further and further shut, sliding into the final phase of the night wherein she knew she maintained no control. She feared what awaited her there, the nightmares, the horrors, her worst anxieties on longest held fears brought into a facsimile of reality where she was but a helpless target of their terror. The terrors had not hurt her physically, it was true, but as the girl slipped hopelessly into unconsciousness, she wondered at the NEGATIVE THOUGHTS that she would soon face. Perhaps this had been the shadow’s intent all along. Perhaps, unwittingly, she had already become their prey.

TEDDY KILLERZ return to EATBRAIN for their first release of 2020 with the latest EP forged of their horror influenced neurofunk sound. The latest in a series of collaborations between EATBRAIN and TEDDY KILLERZ that stretches back to the label’s very beginnings, the trio once again take position at the fore of the EATBRAIN horde as they bring their all out psycho-sonic assault to EATBRAIN listeners worldwide.
