'Pop It Off' is the third single from The Prototypes forthcoming debut album ‘City Of Gold’ on Viper Recordings, available from the 3rd May, with the album dropping 2 weeks later on 17th May 2015.

‘Pop It Off’ features the distinct vocals of Trinidad and Toboggan artist, Mad Hed City (aka Kerwin Prescott). In typical Prototypes dance-floor anthem style, this one is sure to become a DJ's favourite. Twisted baselines and sharp beats are topped off with a dancehall vocal that will have the ravers skanking.

The package also comes backed with a remix from hotly tipped Black Butter artist Jaded. The Jaded remix uses to the awesome Mad Hed City to great effect by dropping the pitch and reworking the original elements into a bass house banger!

With ADE looming on the horizon, it only seemed apt for Ram to yet again provide the perfect drum and bass entrée for Europe’s premium dance event. Set to bring another stellar line up from their roster, this compilation packed full of exclusives helps to epitomise the imprint’s legacy within dance music. Including brand new cuts, demonstrating the Ram’s longevity, this album plays homage to two decades of output. 

Leading you deeper into the dark side of 2015, this year’s Ramsterdam compilation not only pedestals the artists who’ve made such a titanic impact throughout the last ten months, but also the emerging talent from sister label Program and Ram’s newest signees. Whether it’s the old school, growling riddim from Aggressor Bunx, or Calyx & TeeBee’s tell-tale, trembling bassline, each track gives the album a unique vantage point.

Featuring on the collosal track listing is Delta Heavy; an exclusive which relays their elevating, pumping composition, it’s a dancefloor banger sure to detonate any crowd. And Frankee also makes a welcomed return, following the release of his anticipated single ‘Downtown’. ‘Raptor’ is unforgiving, snapped up by different animalistic samples and stridently aggressive – pedestalling Frankee’s unforgiving production standards.

On a totally different vibe, Freek is back with ‘Born Different’, a clanking yet powerful number, one which gears up into LFO-lead chaos with snapping percussion between each break. Brand new music from production outfits Teddy Killerz and Mind Vortex also make a very valuable addition, proving their unbridled talent, with merciless yet complex records that are fierce and gagging to be let loose on Amsterdam’s clubs.  
Two of this year’s most resounding tracks from the Ram camp, Bensley’s ‘Aftermath’ and Gerra & Stone’s ‘L.I.E.S.’ have also received revamps, providing two anticipated VIPs already igniting sets worldwide. Loadstar also deliver the goods; brand new heavy-hitter ‘Dune’ demonstrates exactly why they’ve become such revered names across the genre.

So, here’s to another Amsterdam Dance Event. One with a soundtrack provided by one of the most enduring labels, and stellar rosters, that dance music has played host to. Since signing exclusively with Viper Recordings in April, Austria’s Dossa & Locuzzed have been enjoying some serious recognition as one of the industry’s hottest new drum and bass duos. With their debut single ‘Only Way / Electric Boogie’ released back in May on Viper’s sister label Viper VIP to tumultuous praise, the talented producers have been hitting the scene hard in 2016. Featuring on Viper’s ‘Bassrush 1.0’ album with ‘Ninja’, as well as the annual ‘Drum & Bass Summer Slammers 2016’ compilation with ‘Banana Split’, Dossa & Locuzzed have been gaining support from some of the biggest names in the industry along with fresh new remixes of NC-17’s ‘Soldiers’ and Deuce & Charger’s ‘Who Can You Trust?’. Next up, ‘Shag’ jumps straight in with a mix of swirling synths and bouncy drums, kicking things off with a no-nonsense drop that means business. 2015's “Diversified” album proved unequivocally that Tantrum Desire has a spectrum-spanning palette to draw from. What with the undercurrent of deep house influence running through the tracklist and the excursions through tech, jungle and old skool sounds, it's clear that TD refuse to be pinned down to one classification.

One of the tracks that made a huge impression across raves and airwaves was “Pump”, championed by some of the biggest DJs on the scene from the moment it surfaced. Now, Drumsound & Bassline Smith have stepped up to reconfigure it for this series of remixes. So, we already know it's going to be killing off dances for the second time around.

DBS stamp their signature on the track right from the first note. Cinematic horns sculpt the intro into an epic, hands-in-the-air moment. And then it's all about the build. Arpeggiation meets the eponymous FXed vocal sample with a stomping kick progression to leave us in no doubt an almighty drop is coming.

The original version matched sparse drums with percussive plucks of synth-bass to create an irresistible skankers workout. This remix takes the elements and rearranges them into expert energy-building format. Drumsound & Bassline Smith begin with that stripped-back trap-style bass and beat and proceed to add complexity every sixteen bars. As it shifts up through the gears, this track takes the dance's hype levels with it.

These “Diversified” remixes continue the story that the LP started. The initial tracks demonstrated the multiple facets of Tantrum Desire's sound and now, even more layers have been revealed. This is an array of tunes equipped for every selector's set-list.
