A beautiful and curious piece by William Byrd, the words of 'O salutaris hostia' (O saving victim) seem quite appropriate for Holy Week. The main peculiarity comes from the musica ficta which creates some of the most unusual and intense false relations in Early Music.

These festive songs were recorded in Xander's (dad's) studio in Wokingham on Sunday the 21st of December 2015.

'Walking in the Air' was arranged by Xander Pike and me, originally written by Howard Blake and sung by Aled Jones

'The Christmas song' was written by Wells and Tormé in 1946, and is famously performed by Nat King Cole.
