AnesthesiA was a Canadian Heavy Metal band from the cold prairies of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band was formed circa 1995 by drummer Duane Olsen, guitarists Reid Stepaniuk, and Derek Fehr, and bassist John Sparrow.

The groups musical style was influenced heavily by the bands of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd, Ozzy Osbourne and many more. But It was their joint love of Metallica that unsurprisingly saw them start out by playing covers of Metallica songs. As they grew together and started developing their own songs these very young artists at the ages of 13 through 15 were creating music that had depth and maturity well beyond their years.

Throughout their time together, they played a number of shows around their school, events at the now closed and legendary space Ozzy's @ the Osborne Village Inn, as well as a crowd roaring performance to open up the Kenora Harbourfront Festival's "Battle of The Bands" after being controversially excluded from the contest.

This is their legacy.
