From celebrity deaths to political turmoil, it’s safe to say that 2016 has been one of the craziest years in recent memory. And to remind us about everything that went down—with plenty of venom and hilarious punchlines mixed in—Brooklyn rapper Bekay returns with his latest annual rundown, “2016 Year In Review.”

The ridiculously talented emcee goes in for nearly five minutes straight over the horns-fueled instrumental from Fat Joe & Remy Ma’s huge single, “All The Way Up.” And in doing so, Bekay references damn-near all of what happened in ‘16, from the Suicide Squad movie and its lead actress (Margot Robbie), to Marco Rubio sweating during the debates, to Pokemon Go taking over the mobile landscape.

Of course, there’s plenty of that aforementioned venom, too. It’s aimed squarely at the likes of President-elect Donald Trump, DC Comics’ fails at the box office (looking at you, Batman v. Superman, and a fellow Brooklyn native who blocked Bekay on Twitter (*cough*Talib Kweli*cough*).

Not one to stick to the negatives, Bekay shows love to those we lost this year, including Prince and Phife Dawg, while praising new releases from rap giants De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest. Boston rap duo Blak Madeen return today to drop some jewels and kick down the “Industry Doors” on their latest single, a head-nodding slapper featuring Cali-rap stalwart, West Coast Kam.
 
The standalone single bursts out of the gate with a blistering verse from Al-J, one half of the duo who holds nothing back with tongue-twisting rhymes and impressive breath control. He then passes the mic to his partner-in-rhyme, Yusuf Abdul-Mateen, who kicks knowledge beyond the perceived underground-rap topics of “sports and comic books.” 
 
Blak Madeen are joined by living rap legend West Coast Kam, who sounds as confident as ever, with his clever wordplay and slick boasts. And on the musical side, they teamed with frequent collaborator Sicknature (of Snowgoons) to supply the hard hitting Boom bap instrumental, which slaps a bit harder thanks to the cuts from DJ Slipwax.
 
“Industry Doors” represents another strong showing from one of Hip-Hop’s most consistent acts, who last year cemented their status in the game with their well received LP, 'Supreme Aftermath.'

Boston’s Hip-Hop promotional powerhouse, Leedz Edutainment shares another banger from their upcoming 'Eastern Standard' project with “Never Lived It,” a party-ready and playful collaboration that features Cam Meekins, Sap, and Michael Christmas.
