This song is part of a collaborative EP between myself and another local artist, Don.Hundred. We met during the pandemic, but were unable to work on anything together until now. Never Forget

In 1976, Billy Noknees’ penchant for turning personal chaos into music reached new heights—or perhaps new lows. After a sleepless night plagued by nightmares about Borley Rectory, known as “the most haunted house in England,” Billy woke with a singular mission: he needed to attack the building with a sword. Armed with an ornamental blade he’d picked up at a flea market, he headed straight to the rectory grounds, waving the sword and shouting challenges at the ghostly residents. Predictably, he was quickly escorted off the property.

Undeterred, Billy stormed into the studio the next day, declaring that his spectral encounter had inspired a new track: Borley Rectory. The song was a disco-infused epic with eerie undertones, featuring lyrics about spectral battles and vengeful spirits lurking in decrepit halls. The producer, Alistair "Specter" Graves, was already annoyed by Billy’s late arrival and even more so by his insistence on bringing the sword into the studio as a “creative muse.”

Things took a turn for the worse when Billy began re-enacting his “battle” with Borley’s ghosts mid-session, flailing the sword around and nearly decapitating a ceiling lamp. Alistair, trying to keep the session on track, repeatedly asked Billy to focus, but the tension finally boiled over when Billy accused him of “siding with the ghosts.” The argument escalated into a shouting match, with Alistair threatening to wipe the session if Billy didn’t put the sword down.

Despite the drama, Borley Rectory was completed—a haunting yet groovy track with Billy’s dramatic vocals weaving a tale of supernatural conflict. However, the fallout with Alistair meant the song was shelved indefinitely. Only a small test pressing of 7" vinyl was produced before the track faded into obscurity.

Decades later, in 1993, one of these rare records was discovered buried in a graveyard in Suffolk, tucked inside an old wooden box with a note that read, “Keep them at bay.” Now remastered with the magic of AI, Ghosts of the Haunted Hall is presented in its original sleeve—a chilling design featuring a shadowy rectory and a spectral hand reaching out from the darkness.

Prepare to be haunted by Borley Rectory, a disco-driven tale of ghostly vengeance and sword-swinging absurdity. It’s a spectral slice of OBIISSS history, where disco met the paranormal in the most unpredictable way imaginable!
