One listen to DaveyJ is an eye opening introduction to the raw, untapped potential of a rookie whose coming in with the wisdom and storytelling capabilities of a veteran. The wide variety of sources of inspiration he draws from are subtle but very much present. With songs like "The 5th" where he showcases his performance and melody creating capabilities, or displaying his lyrical ability on tracks like "Preach" or his "Tell Me Freestyle", its easy to feel this young man's infectious energy and naturally want to experience it first hand for yourself. And yet, the most intriguing part about the self proclaimed "break check papi" is how unique it is to find an artist of such caliber, and still not be able to predict how high his ceiling truly is.
