This summer, Mojo Filter (A.K.A Ben Zaven-Crane), the raconteur and meteoric mind behind popular Bandcamp series ‘AOR Disco Vintage Edits’, ‘Modern Re-Loves’ and ‘Autobahn Edits’, re-emerges from his cosmic wormhole homestead to warp festival dancefloors and spiralize minds once more. With him, he brings gifts: a bowl of psychotropic punch and a compilation of possibly his finest musical accomplishments to date, ‘Autobahn Edits Volume 3’…

Crane’s canny ability to select hits from throughout the ages and inject them with his own scintillating electronics, as if they had always been there, has gained him plaudits not just from across the blogosphere, but also from tastemakers at trusted stations like 6Music and KCRW. As a result his edit compilations on Bandcamp have escalated far beyond the ‘cottage industry’ project they were initially intended as, and recently earned themselves a further 7”s sub-series on Dom Servini’s WHAWHA45's label.

Whilst exuding the same unmistakable soma of his vintage edits, Mojo Filter’s AEV 3 should be considered a firm homage to artists of the present and future era, offering up viosionary reworks of timeless classics from Beirut and Thomas Newman alongside a new wave of artists such as Uone and Ditti.

A short time spent with the record will reveal to fans of Mojo Filter, a new sensitivity and ambition for his compositions. Whilst forging the old and the new these edits are essentially D.J tools to evoke high strangeness, familiarity and exploration on the dancefloor and kitchen alike. It is also perhaps a more striking realization of Crane’s desire to tell stories through music by listening to this body of work as a whole experience revealing the deeper narratives woven within.

Crane’s inventive DJ sets and meticulously curated music stages at Secret Garden Party, Bestival and Noisily* have often seen him resonate at more obscure frequencies than those represented in this album. As with all Mojo Filter records, however, the invitation for the listener to open the wrong door and tumble down the rabbit hole remains tantalizing seductive throughout, whether it’s an obscure Kyrill Stefanov re-imagination or a rework of a Thomas Newman film score.

Indeed, AEV3 is every bit the mystery-charged musical super highway depicted in the cover art – exploratory long haul excursions, psycho-tropical turnpikes, fairytale trails and scenic highroads are just some of the deviations enticingly framed within this cult compilation series.

Where the road leads next for Mojo’s sound is wonderfully unclear, by design, but through this filter, the approaching landscape looks very interesting…
One thing we can be sure of: wherever Crane does end up, he will soon become native.
He will be among its people, speaking their language and smoking their most sacred leaves with the big chief.


These edit compilations are ultimately tools for the like-minded D.J’s that share this joy for mesmerising sounds woven with intrigue and fable. Telling stories through journeys of ritual and dance invite fellow psychonauts to explore their mind and body whilst in communion with those in resonance. This is a powerful rite of passage that can be formative in those cherished periods of freedom, exploration and self-discovery.
In some ways previous compilations present the past, present and now future of dance music offering tools to evoke a cascade of nostalgia and visionary states to elevate one’s being.

The Sensorium Ep. 14 – Technicolour Dreamwave 🔆🌈🛰️🪘🎷💫

In an unprecedented collision of satire, psychedelics, and extraterrestrial House, DJ’s Mojo Filter & Uone have unleashed a mind-merging new track, “Machine Elves”, featuring none other than President Donald J. Trump tripping absolute face on a hyperdimensional journey initiated by Elon Musk who, in turn, obtained the intergalactic substance from the enigmatic DJ duo during a short but spiritually intense visit to Mars.

The origins of this cosmic collaboration are as bizarre as the track itself. As the story goes, Musk was testing a secret Neuralink prototype that allows human minds to interface directly with Martian fungi when two of his volunteers, DJ’s Mojo Filter & Uone, began spinning some spacey beats in the Tesla-powered Zero-G Hookah Lounge. Amidst pulsating strobe lights and anti-gravity grooves, Musk was gifted a vial of ultra-pure Martian DMT by the duo.

Musk promptly invited them on board the prototype Tesla CyberSaucer™ with DJT and blasted them all together to his private Red Planet retreat, located inside a hollow volcano presided over by benevolent AI monks. There, under the glow of two suns, Trump accepted a philosopher’s dose of Martian DMT harvested from the pulsing mycelial networks beneath the surface.

As captured in the track, Trump inhaled a heroic, full-send rip and immediately transcended the mortal plane, where he met the fuzzy little neon bug boys and struck a killer deal. A deal that would forever alter the course of human history and all of base reality itself. This merger was quite literally of cosmic proportions and is set to merge realities this time next year. “Make no mistake, it’s gonna be wild,” proclaims our protagonist.

The internet is already ablaze with speculation. Did this really happen? Did Trump actually ascend to the fifth dimension, shake hands with intergalactic diplomats, and negotiate a peace treaty between Earth and the Hexcube Overlords? When asked for a statement, Musk simply tweeted: “There is no spoon.”

Catch the phone call where Trump first recounts his experience to the DJs and proceeds to announce live on air to the nation the implications of this cosmic clash within the track itself. And don’t be surprised if the track draws you into the merger! Conspiracy theorists are already speculating the song itself is a portal..
