Today for another episode - number 5 -  I am super stoked and honored to welcome living legend Josy5! I think he recorded mixes for all organic downtempo podcasts and labels I deeply love, so it is a true resonance and gratitude to welcome him onboard with this special set dedicated to his beloved son Livio.

Born in 1972 in the southwest of France, Jean-Olivier  has been passionate about sound since childhood, exploring blues, soul, funk, rock, hip-hop, and early electronic music. Beginning as a vinyl DJ in 1992(!), he played in forests, nature gatherings, and private parties, shaped early on by DJ Nerate (UK) of the legendary Spiral Tribe. 

Part of the first wave of the French techno movement, he shared underground sounds—house, techno, trance, psytrance, jungle, and breakbeat—with intimate but devoted audiences across France, Goa, Thailand, and Nepal throughout the 90s. 

After a 20-year pause, he returned behind the decks in 2022, embracing digital tools with renewed creative freedom. Known for eclectic, improvised, and story-driven sets, his mixes flow across downtempo, house, deep and melodic electronics, and psychedelia, always guided by groove, depth, and a deep love of sharing sound.
