Pop Icon & The House Of Icon Pride Show 2014

Performance and visual artist, Pop Icon, and his former artist husband, Christopher Icon, formed Bear Monarch in October of 2008. Their first studio album, entitled 'Faster Monarch…and the Naked Past', was released in June of 2009. Their sophomore album 'Truth & Lies' was released in October of 2011, and the companion movie by filmmaker and poet, Steven Ortega, was released in December of 2011. The third album, entitled 'The Pop Album', was released in July of 2013. Keith Magnetik from the bands As All Die, and Noir Magnetik joined the band after the release of 'The Pop Album'. Bryin Dall from Thee Majesty, and Hirsute Pursuit is set to work on the next solo release from Bear Monarch's main member, Pop Icon. The Icons have stated that the main intention for their music is to be art for your ears. It is heavily influenced by the stories they would tell each other, and by bands such as Yoko Ono, Xiu Xiu, As All Die, Goblin, Throbbing Gristle, Lady Jaye, Sleazy, Hirsute Pursuit, Thee Majesty, Noir Magnetic, Power Through Will, Coil, Psychic TV (PTV3), and Dead Meadow.

Happy New Year folks! Welcome to the new season of Pop Icon & The House of Icon. I’d like to give a shout out to Chris Gartland- Icon, Todd M. LeMieux, Cherokee Justice Wilbur, LD Beghtal & Alex Ayriss for your love, compassion, lust & friendship. You’re truly my kings. A shout out to Melanie Ducharme, Keith Magnetic, Anthony Donovan, and Vince the destroyer. You’re truly my favorite collaborators and co conspirators. I’d like to thank bands like D. Lorean, A Boy Named Pony, Bear Monarch and Roz and the Rice Cakes for allowing me to share their music and continue their legacy of making great music. Most of us had a rough time in 2016 and I have hope 2017 will be better. My new Years resolution is more a new mission statement. I promise to be there for the LGBTQ and the recovery community. I will be there just to listen and to give life advice. I'm not just talking about going to fundraisers and supporting their businesses and artists. I'm talking about actually being there in the hard and good times. 2017 might be a rough year. We can not only thrive but better ourselves by sticking and caring together. Together we can raise a glorious voice and let love truly be law of the land. Why do you think we're often the most hated? Because we know ourselves and see the truth. We are creatures of love and color. I was raised to believe that us two natured folk are the greatest spiritual warriors. Let's all be spiritual warriors together. I love you!
