“This, That, & The Third” is a journal entry in the form of a 3 song EP verbalizing The Third’s experiences and thoughts in the time period of July and August 2021. This form of documentation was inspired by another practice consisting of a 20 minute free-write period with no prompt or point of focus; just whatever thoughts surfaced at any given moment. With a few breaks in between, Third continued to do this every month since then, and extracted 3 (of hundreds) thoughts to put into song.

This song recognizes some of the toxic traits that for many come with getting over heartache, such as ignoring it, using vices, not vocalizing thoughts/emotions etc. The song entails the harsh reality of getting colder emotionally, yet closer to what is important; becoming stronger and fueling yourself from it for your own benefit,
understanding when to listen to your mind over your heart. This is your world. Everyone else is just a factor if you allow them to be. Don't allow yourself to forget where you're headed along the way. FEELINGS ARE TEMPORARY, just as everything else is. "why live for the pain I live for the pleasure"
