The intro to this track is a plagiarism of social media posts by an old man on Merseyside. He is deeply dedicated to Covid-19 conspiracy theories. His impressive array of antennae beneath camouflage net in his back garden scan the short wave bands, while his steerable parabolic tracks disused Iridium communication satellites to intercept secret messages from the networks of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.

Forget the World Health Organisation. Forget those teams of committed and highly qualified medics developing vaccines. They know NOTHING compared to this bearded patriarch. He is the definitive expert and he KNOWS that everybody else on the planet had been duped by the media.

Or maybe he is trying to deflect the world from one simple secret. That he is scared of needles and would say anything other than to admit his phobia.

I hope you get some kicks out of it - the word enjoy does apply to some of the tracks, but not all of them. The title track and Warp-Lane that follows it are intended to be more thought-provoking than enjoyable. I guess that's what entertainment is about.

A bit fateful as well as I was trying some piano chords against the track that came before this one. Mix re-worked in February 2018. After hearing this a few times, I became aware of musical relationships between the sounds that I had never considered when making the original version. I have now reworked the mix to bring these into focus and just loved the result. I hope you will too.

For the full words of the monologue, see my track Underground (Monologue). The voice was generated on a computer, even though it may sound human. The backing is influenced by the sound of machinery, mainly 19th century steam as can be witnessed at The Blists Hill museum at Madeley, Shropshire in the UK.

I Can't Feel It Baby

In 2018 a mysterious rock from some distant place in our galaxy entered the solar system. It was a very unusual shape and passed with a tumbling motion before moving far away through the galaxy again. As it passed, all the random waves in space formed an amazing melody the like of which had never been heard before.

Oumuamua

Supporters of A432 tuning claim that as 432 Hz is a multiple of 8 Hz, which is the fundamental Om of the cosmos, music tuned to this pitch has powerful mystical an healing properties compared with the pitch standardised in 1939 at 440 Hz.

Opponents state that all this is nonsense because back in the mists of time, nobody knew about Hz (Cycles per second). In fact nobody knew what a second was until it was defined sometime around 1670, as decent clocks began to be produced.

It all makes fascination reading, just look up A 432 on the Web and you will discover the whole story.

This track, Electric Masquerade, is tuned to A432. The project revealed some interesting observations. The project itself was tuned to the A432 pitch, but only the synths native to Apple's Logic X picked up the tuning. The 3rd party synths all needed tuning individually to A432 and the vocal samples that were not in Apple Loops format also.

At the end of the day, it gives a mellow sound and who knows? It might give you a psychic lift.

Electric Masquerade (Original A432 Mix)

In 2018 a mysterious elongated object from interstellar space entered the solar system. It was given the name Oumuamua (The messenger). It passed with a tumbling motion before moving far away through the galaxy again.

As it passed, all the random waves in space formed an amazing melody the like of which had never been heard before. It was captured by chance on an analog radio by an unknown musician called Sebastian Smith, who recognising its true worth, set out to share it with the world.

Slight rework during the 2020 lockdown. Cleaned up kick. Worked on pad. Cleared some masking of lead by other sounds.

Le Scat, Rue de la Verrerie, Aix-en-Provence. Bears an amazing relationship with the old Liverpool Cavern Club in Mathew Street. Fantastic live music. Guy running the place bore an uncanny resemblance to Roger Eagle.

This song is based on the accapella with Candi Staton taken from the album Defected Accapellas Deluxe Vol. 11. I always felt that the song would sound good in a gospel setting. My aim was to produce something that would sound equally good in both a disco and a church. Hopefully this mix pushes across this lady's message in a different way than before.
