On his new album "Ghosts of Uranium City", Solsten works with the framework of techno & dub to first create a world that is both organic and industrial and then explores themes of loss, anxiety, beauty & love.

Using hard hitting drums and droning machines, Solsten makes you consider a musical reality that is harsh yet beautiful, equally suited for a warehouse at 4am or questioning your own existence on a Thursday afternoon.

Solsten’s tribute to the 90s dub techno era, “Ten Ox Assembly” takes inspiration from early Basic Channel releases. The fast pace of the bass drums move seamlessly along with evolving drones and rapid-fire natural percussion, straining at the seams of the mix.

The title "Ten Ox Assembly" is a reference to the classic Buddhist text “The Ten Oxherding Pictures” and the “Way of Korean Zen” by Master Kusan Sunim, where they ask: “Since space has collapsed, how can obstacles remain? Could a snowflake survive inside a burning flame? You cheerfully come and go: How could you not always laugh?”
