Going The Wrong Way

Ever since he was a small boy, Venjahnce has had an affinity for music.
 
The talented entertainer who is also a professional carpenter and a farmer was born and raised in Sheffield, Westmoreland.
 
While growing up, he spent most of his spare time listening to the music of popular dancehall acts like Papa San, Lieutenant Stitchie, Brigadier Jerry and Super Cat.
 
Enthralled by the lyrics and style of these artistes Venjahnce spent countless hours trying to imitate them. He eventually began sneaking out of his mother’s house at night to watch deejays perform on sound systems, and it wasn't long before he too began holding the mic.
 
He was only 11 years old when he started honing his talent by performing on events in his community and other nearby towns. He also entered several talent contests and won competing against other Deejays who were much older than he was.
 
Venjahnce launched his professional music career in the early 90s with the recording of a single called Gal Ginigog, under the moniker Daddy V. This song was followed by several other recordings including Defend Money Ft. Mr Peck, Mix Up Mix Up and How Long.
 
After a brief stint in Turks and Caicos where he worked in the construction industry towards the end of the decade, he returned to, Jamaica to resume his music career.
 
Teaming up with longtime manager and producer Ralston Barrett in 2003 he changed his stage name to Venjahnce and began recording again. This move resulted in the release of singles such as Looking for a War, Going the Wrong Way, Only Love I know and Jah Love Sweet.
 
After failing to achieve the breakthrough he desired Venjahnce decided to take a break from the music business in 2009.
 
He made his return 2015 with a convincing performance at the annually held GT Taylor’s Christmas Extravaganza stage show. 

The hardworking Deejay, who is rated by many dancehall insiders as one of the best lyricists in the game, is currently promoting a brand new Reggae one drop single titled The Village.
 
Now signed to Reggae Nation Music Venjahnce is ready to take his career to highest heights in Reggae and dancehall music.
