GAWD I love this mix!  It never gets old!

Taking over where Acid Generation left off, Back to the Phuture is comprised mainly of new releases from Fall 2009 with a sprinkling of tracks twenty years their prior. The newer portions are sometimes as much near exact clones of 80's underground as they are the latest sound of the coming decade, (not unlike the new releases found on Acid Generation released in Spring 2009). This mixed set was originally a 2+ hour long excerpt from the 8+ hour long recording, "NYE Live 2009". This particular version was shortened to fit SoundCloud's new 2 hour limit on free music. The remaining 20 minutes as well as more excerpts from NYE Live 2009 are available upon request.

Having known Jack MF’s music for several years, roommate Kristan Fucci asked if she had “heard all of (his) records yet”. Kristan’s curiosity about “the records tucked under the turntables and the television” inspired this selection of energetic house and deep house tracks tailored for Kristan on September 27th, 2009.

The Original Version of this mix was removed from SoundCloud due to "Copyright Infringement" for using a 45 second intro to Pointer Sisters' "Happiness", but is available upon request.

Live recordings from Vision, a Rave that took place in the Old Port-Portland, Maine on Sunday, October 11, 1998, and The After Party on Columbus Day.

One of my favorite highlights of the evening was toward the very end of the night when I dropped Master C & J’s “In the City”, and some random guy began heckling me from the crowd, (I guess for playing too deep). Two female friends of mine, (including Sketchy Spiller) simply walked over, picked him right up off his feet, and carried him out the door.

Other DJs who appeared were Blue Soul, Mike Walsh, Psyonic, Tari & Matthew.

AS ALWAYS THIS WAS MIXED THE OLD FASHIONED WAY - WITH TURNTABLES & VINYL!!!

This is a roughly 212 minute long mix of brand new releases from the Spring of 2012. However, as the trend has been for me the past few years, there is nothing "New" sounding or "Modern" as they say.

Smack dab in the middle of a time in music that spans the trendy copycat commercialism of "EDM" v. Disco Dubs, Edits and Reworks comes a very simple, perhaps "unfashionable" groove. There is no DubStep, no Bells & Whistles, not even a lick of new technology appears to be used to make any of these tracks. Almost every single one of these "brand new releases" are undeniably carbon copies of old school that never were, particularly in the deep dark Chicago styles of 1986-87. Those who require a driving beat may at first feel left out, turned away - but alas the energy is very much there - but requiring a trained or veteran ear, or at least an open mind to feel it.

I've been referring to this as "End of The World" because it has this haunting combination of post apocalyptic loneliness, infinite freedom and space, sadness and yet hope for a new beginning... not to mention the timing (2012)

This set is 100% ME - REAL UNDERGROUND MUSIC - REAL SOUL - that doesn't try to be popular or cater to trends, but is thoughtful, sometimes challenging. If you are charmed enough to try it, you WILL SURRENDER as the sound envelopes you and calls to you even after the music stops...

I fucking LOVE LOVE LOVE this mix - in all of its humbleness - and I have not been able to stop listening to it since its inception. Listen to it once. If you don't get it, listen again. Listen a third time. It's imperative to your own well being that you get in!

This mix of mostly early 90's Underground Deep House (and a few twists), was originally recorded live on cassette in 1993 at a party hosted by Shanna D - in her Basement of Red Décor and Red Lights - and was transferred to digital for Jason "Jaysoul" Johnson on December 25th, 2012.

The Red Basement - 1 (Continuous)

Inspired by "Tracy Goes to New York", Kristan Goes to Atlanta is comprised of records accumulated over the summer of 2010 from a cardboard box marked “FREE” out in front of  "Something Absurd" Record Shop in Portland, Maine. Dozens of passed up white labels, test pressings, and used vinyl that were chosen either by instinct, previous knowledge or were already owned by me, were brought home and reviewed. The tracks that bombed were completely outnumbered by a multitude of excellent condition classics that would replace older copies, and even more tracks I had never previously owned but had always wanted. Having already intended to dedicate a CD to Kristan F, (who would be leaving Maine and returning to Atlanta in August) relevant tracks were selected for both aesthetic and lyrics, and the result was an eclectic FOUR CD SET of mostly Vintage House from 1987 to 1997.

Disc 1 of 4 is an upbeat energetic set featuring late 80's/early 90's House & 80's Garage/Italo/High Energy classics.
