On Friday morning I put my hands down on the piano and I played the first chords of this song without even thinking.

By Saturday night I had finished writing and recording the song, I am releasing it on Sunday.

The Lantern Fouling the Brittle Air, Listening to the Dog and the Echo

method: first, I created a shaman-monk-version (mostly ‚Gregorian‘ voice and jaw harp) on cassette tape (this is where some of the noise - especially in the first section - derives from) and zoom r20 with a vacuum-tube pre-amp for the voice ….. all of which I then treated like a field recording sample in Samplitude - sculpting it with vst instruments and effects. 
narration: it feels like I have sonified this poem a million times before …. which might be the case because I have lived through it that often - I and others I dearly care for …. but then again … I might have actually done so. it is also part of the cycle SONIC CASCADE published in  A SINGLE LOOP OF FORTUNES. Alternative titles are ‚TWO-PLACE‘ and ‚04s SAMPLE‘. For this publication, I simplify the title to  ‚SAMPLE‘.

Yiannis is an artist from Thessaloniki, Greece. He started studying classical guitar in the early 00's, but soon enough electric sound got him. During the next years, he's playing the guitar for the Muddy Banks -a post/ punk band-(2007-2010).At the same time, he's been a member of several other bands of the same music genre.
In 2012 he founded he's own label the "Red Vinyls”. In 2013 he released his first ep , “Take it or Leave it”! In 2017 he released his second ep "PAUSE" and that was a two years pause indeed! Finally in 2019 the game is on again releasing the new song "Get Away" part of the upcoming ep "Revolution". This new darker sound approaches the deepest fears of humanity, having high hopes to reach humility again..

The plural of "Vinyl" is indeed "Vinyl" but we like "Vinyls" better!
