The Maharishi (Live at Sansom Studios)

The Rift are a five piece band featuring Will Dann and Alex Hurdley on rhythm/lead guitar, Dave Gardner on bass, Tom Wintle on Drums and lead singer Joe Morgan. Formed in January 2019, The Rift have been busy performing across venues in Birmingham including the O2 Academy and headlining the Actress in Bishop with future gigs lined up in 2020 including ShyneFest which is taking place in Surrey this June. Inspired by bands including Oasis, The Smiths and The Who, The Rift recorded their first live single – The Maharishi – in Sansom Studies and have plans to release more live tracks throughout the year. Co-founding members and lifelong family friends Will and Alex decided to form the band after Jamming together on Christmas day 2018 and both sharing a love of guitar music and melody.
