you lower your umbrella in defeat and let the rain trickle down your cheeks, now mixed with your tears. 

there it goes again, the pain in your chest where your heart begins to work overtime. 

you feel this world in highs and lows, some of which you can’t explain…especially the lows.

they come in waves of tears and breakdowns, unexpectedly and you don’t know why. 

cars and people pass you by, knowing little of the torment in your mind.

for your face is anything but telling since you hide it well inside.
