youre sitting on a goldmine 
but you havent found it
someone gonna risk what you missed

i know the way youre tired of it
so you remind me
im awake but i feel like im sleeping
one of these days maybe i wont need the bed
or write the dead 
my way

oh i got my reasons
no you wont believe them
so ill be complete when 
i can rest from the best of mediocrity

i know i better find a way to run around 
with my head in the clouds
everywhere i look i see a different guide 
by someones side
maybe if we learn from each others wrongs
then yea
someone roll the dice
im sure that will keep us all
from running away

youre standing on a landmine
but theres no explosion
still you find yourself blown to pieces
im sure the ashes fly away
but never land
i cant explain but i feel like im dreaming
maybe someday i can converse with the dead
or write in red

i may hold out
i can wait
