Between strange situations and sometimes dubious behavior, the song recounts with a touch of irony the situation we all found ourselves in and the nostalgia of seeing life in cities shine again (in particular with the return of all forms of art and free expression in the streets

The new Album - Défais-toi (Free yourself) - is an invitation to take an honest and unbiased time with the inner self to remove all the layers that are preventing it to be free. The quartet explores Balkan Swing, French Variété and Pop-Folk Music adding Groovy Rhythms and oriental melodies to the mix.

Songs have been written by Camille Franc & Steffen Vogel and the album was recorded live at the Famous Gold Watch Studio Berlin in March 2020. Mixing and Mastering byTim Tabellion at Artistania.

The album's artwork is designed by the Italian based artist Agnesema.

From the depths of the Spree and its canals come the River Rats! They drag two guitars, double-bass and violin through the gloomy tunnels of Berlin to their moon-lit sessions. Influenced by the diminished lines of Django Reinhardt, the heart of the variété française and the spirit of old-time country and blues, the Rats wander between the ragged niches of Kreuzberg's street jams and the glamorous grand theater. With members from Italy, France and Germany, the River Rats combine the north and the south, dark and light, contemplation and euphoria.
