DJ/producer/sound-designer Jerry Bouthier hooks up with Germany’s Emerald & Doreen records for compilation-mix “Mystery Tour". The London-based Frenchman picks his favorite tracks & remixes from the young imprint’s already extensive catalogue (500+ tracks & remixes in three years) and produces a 1h idiosyncratic mix taking listeners on a magic ride.

The man behind Continental records, long-time Kitsuné collaborator, half of baleariscopop act JBAG with Andrea Gorgerino, music director of Vivienne Westwood and other fashion labels, Jerry Bouthier remains a music lover without blinkers, eternally enamored by futuristic evolutions and enthralling tunes. It is this shared gargantuan enthusiasm for truly diverse musical forms of expression, so long honesty and creativity are palpable, that naturally brought together (with the help of a chance email) and connected deeply Emerald & Doreen and monsieur Bouthier. Jerry explains:
 
“Out of nowhere I started to receive promos from an international cast on this hard to pin German label packing EPs of such diverse variations and remixes of the same track(s) and more often than not, I would find a real gem in there.
I began to look forward to what they'd bring out next, curious and excited by the fact this label didn't play safe or by the rules. You weren’t too sure where it belonged and what you were about to unfold, so refreshing in 2015. The fact that it’d put so much emphasis on vocal songs and that guitars kept poking in here and there at regular intervals only made me more eager. 
 
It eventually dawned on me, Emerald & Doreen is like a post-punk label for today's electronic generations. Past the stage of being stuck to definitions and business plans, it offers a radically different outlook. 
Crucially there are a lot of characters to be found here. You instantly grasp you're faced with the work of true musicians, self-taught or trained but often with a DIY approach, the kind who perpetually explores the unknown, dodging rules and conventions.
 
With such a diverse and lengthy catalogue, it took me a while to compile my very fave 21 tracks, the more generous offerings to my ears, enchanting melodies and dramatic developments firing in all directions; the result is a seamless, albeit slightly out there, introduction to the label. And with a slight twist too, almost like an evocative film to dance and listen to…”
 
So let Jerry Bouthier take you on his “Mystery Tour” of Emerald & Doreen’s soundscapes. There’s a little bit of magic for everyone in this different kind of label not devoid of nerve or humor, it is alive and here for you to discover… and cherish.

Berlin-based synth-wave band Dina Summer released their highly anticipated second album 'Girls Gang' earlier this year via Iptamenos Discos. The super band which is formed by Kalipo (also known for his work with electro-punk band Frittenbude) and dark disco DJ/producer duo Local Suicide first made waves in the scene with their 2021 EP ‚Who Am I‘ before releasing their critically acclaimed 2022 debut album ‚Rimini‘ and 2024 EP ‘Hide & Seek’. They also contributed to Curses’ ‘Next Wave Acid Punx‘ compilation, participated in Purple Mag x radiooooo’s '2070' project, and performed at Reeperbahn Festival's prestigious ‘Collide Session’.

The new album is a versatile collection of 11 tracks that delve into themes such as empowerment, outsiderhood, impermanence, nostalgia, and relationships. While their debut album was characterized by its club-centric sound, drawing from italo disco and '90s electro influences, this new release explores a richer palette of new wave, post punk, and synth pop. The sophomore longplayer is more song-oriented, often featuring real bass and guitar, and showcases a more vocal-driven performance from frontwoman Dina, incorporating more singing alongside her trademark spoken words. Yet, it retains the same catchy melodies Dina Summer is known for, offering both indie pop hymns and a few undeniable club anthems.

After recently releasing a bunch of remixes by DJ Hell, Damon Jee, Phunkadelica, The Populists, Karassimeon, Boys’ Shorts, Karla Lynch, Moderna, The World Domination, & Etane the trio is now back with even more reworks by befriended artists Joyce Muniz, Stockholm Syndrome, IBÄ, Nici Palm & JG Outsider!

The uprising Leipzig-based DJ, producer and party curator Nici Palm chops up & re-arranges the vocals from ’No More Tears’ and adds a tech groove and multiple rich synth layers to create an ode of female empowerment.
