Upon a long list of names, some of the most notable artists he has worked with include OneMan, Richy Ahmed and Alan Fitzpatrick. 

He also runs NYX marketing which we delve into in our recent catch up with him, where he explains top DJs use his company to further project their brand image and music and even explains how closely he works with artists. Some of his clients include: Amelie Lens, PanPot and Archie Hamilton.

As any DJ and producer will know the window of opportunity for global success is hard to come by and rarely achievable for most. Drifting under the radar can be a lonely existence if superstardom is your end goal. However, certain artists, Alan Dixon a prime example are the epitome of underground music. Void of the habits that push them into an endless campaign of social media stardom instead focusing on the music that makes them recognisable. Proper artistry that ignores the unwanted advances of a changing industry.

Unsurprisingly he has upcoming releases on Gerd Janson's 'Running Back' and Marcel Vogel's 'Lumberjacks In Hell' demonstrating his obvious studio talent. What is more, he possesses the same talent for playing music as he does making music. This talent has taken him as far as New York while regularly venturing across the UK for mega gigs like Elrow Town.

This weekend he joins the Theus Mago show at Cell 200, which was the perfect opportunity to invite him down into the studio to mix down episode 041 of The RRP Podcast. An hour & a half of sultry sounds, floaty floor fillers & other metaphors for a quality mix. Enjoy!

REES' music is inspired by the dance floor but moulded on his experiences, with his eclectic selection of music, he's often heard moving swiftly between everything from Italo, Afro-Synth and Disco to late 80s House, Techno and Electro. His short career has already earned him many plaudits with a US tour, Redlight Radio show, Boiler Room and a run of headline shows already under his belt. On top of this, his talent behind a set of decks has seen him become a regular at Ape-X, the leading club brand in the North of England and he regularly supports the likes of Dan Shake, Tom Trago and other names across Newcastle.

EXHALE’s much anticipated first release continues the legacy of @amelielens' EXHALE event series with a fifteen original track compilation featuring old and new friends from each avenue of the underground. With a shared love of rave culture, the label is a platform for the forward-thinking while simultaneously paying homage to foundations of techno. With this in mind, Amelie gathers familiar faces and upcoming artists to deliver the future sounds of techno.

Spanning to each dark corner of the technosphere, the compilation fosters a range of sound that exhibits each artist’s production taste and background. Amelie & EXHALE events mainstay AIROD open proceedings with the ascending ‘Adrenaline’, featuring acid lines and hypnotic vocals, with Spanish techno veteran Regal driving on with authoritative speed and neurotic alarms in ‘Spreading the cult’. Following his debut on LENSKE, Amelie welcomes AhI Iver to bring an acid flavour to this compilation along with French talent Felicie, who builds tension early on with raucous track ‘The Devil Himself’. Obscure Shape & SHDW follow with ‘Brennende Erde’, inducing a state of trance with whirring atmospherics. 

Next up is notable Berlin based producer Klangkuenstler with ‘Engelsblut’, an oscillation of stabbing keys, sinister drones and unrelenting hi-hats before transitioning into ‘Take Two’ from REMY-X, whom Amelie discovered after his stand-out EP on Coincidence Records last year. DJ/Producer at the forefront of French techno Antigone proceeds with ‘U Tell Me’, along with Brecc who incorporates industrial elements and thundering bass with track ‘Vox’, continuing with Antwerp producer Lukas Firtzer’s ‘Excessus’, packed with shifting percussions and tenacious melodies. 

Purveyor of modular techno MRD combines layered atmospherics and euphoric pads in ‘Reach my hand’, followed by Mehen (aka Hadone) who maintains pace with his rendering ‘Broken Whisper’, with a disorentiating and melody driven expedition from Francois X next to switch up momentum. Promising upcoming Dutch producer Grace Dahl ensues with the merciless ‘Vermilion Empire’, while production virtuoso DYEN nods to EXHALE’s roots in rave culture with ‘Fantasy’, a medley of spiked vocals and ethereal synths that maintain the energy until the final kick.

Premiere: DYEN "Fantasy" - EXHALE Records

'The hypnotic thrust of the opening, title track on JSPR's Mainframe Boogie EP introduces some of the hardest sounds we've heard to date from the Dutch producer. Mainframe Boogie is a thumping, warehouse-ready cut that sounds tailor-made for Second State. "Blossom" dials back the aggression slightly, utilizing bleepy synths and pealing, high-pitched pads to temper a pounding backdrop. JSPR moves into darker terrain on "Parasite", a track filled with all the paranoia and dread that the title inspires. Unsettling keys through the mid-section see tension levels rise further on this moody, pulsing track. "Fire" might be the highest energy track on the release. Whipping synths, blaring sirens and arpeggiating keys come together in a broody, storming cut to close out the EP. After a string of successful releases on Pig & Dan's Elevate label and with an impressive pedigree that includes a release on Richie Hawtin's M-nus, Pan-Pot are delighted to welcome JSPR into the Second State fold.'
