“I was literally imagining playing live PA at Bass Coast when I wrote this record. Performance has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a kid. I’ve done a lot of electronic live pa sets over the years, a big part of those with my brother Ben as Daega Sound. The inspiration behind Ghost Orchid is a lifelong journey between two worlds - classical guitar's polyphonic mastery and electronic music's limitless layers. After completing my Masters in Spain, I finally found the freedom to meld these parallel passions into something uniquely boundaryless."

This is my live set from the Global Heat Showcase 2 day event  in Nelson, BC June 6th-8th 2025. 
This set is filled with the best in amapiano, afro house, afro beat, batida and more!

When I began playing at 4am, the sky was still dark, but as the music builds, the sun rose slowly over the snow capped mountains that surrounded us. we celebrated the rising sun together and slowly  closed the container that was Global Heat 2025! After me, Mraki (DJ), Alisina (DJ) and Akiiba (DJ) played beautiful sets that wound us down and closed the event in the most epic and beautiful way! Such an honour to be a part of this magical event!

we love you all, remember to breathe, and it’s probably a good idea to jump in the water even if it seems cold you’ll get out and be like “ah that was nice im happy”

(if you don’t get the image: In the 90s during the Summer every Summer for like 11 years one of the most common commercials on children’s television like Nickelodeon was this Sears air conditioner home install commercial that begins with a wife begging her husband to call Sears because she’s dying without AC & he keeps neglecting to do it & it’s the 90s so women aren’t allowed to use phones or make major home appliance purchases or otherwise interact with tradespeople at all, and he’s like ok I’ll call tomorrow & she’s like you said you’d call yesterday, so he’s like ok I’ll call now but in a slightly patronizing way like it’s clear he works outside the home during the hot part and he just wants to read his paper and drink his coffee & anyway they get sears + then at the end of the spot she’s like what’s the weather like [because he’s reading the paper, so much of this context would have to be explained to kids these days] and he’s like “another scorcher” & she says “cool” because she doesn’t care anymore now that her house is cool)
