ABOUT FLORA CASH:

Cole and Shpresa met on SoundCloud; where each had been uploading music independently, in early 2012. At first, their love was simply for the other's music. That quickly turned into something more, however, and it wasn’t long before the two began a relationship on Skype which lasted more than five months. In June 2012, Shpresa flew to Cole in Minneapolis, from Stockholm, and stayed until the couple returned to Sweden two months later. It was there that Flora Cash was born.

If You're on the Water

New Tradition

The "If You’re on the Water" EP, while self-released, is The Saxophones' first studio recording. It was recorded and mixed on an analog Toft console by Cameron Spies of Radiation City over the course of a spring week in Portland, Oregon. It features Alexi Erenkov on guitar, vocals, and woodwinds; his wife, Alison Alderdice on percussion and vocals; and his longtime friend and collaborator Richard Laws on bass, vibes, and Crumar synthesizer. 

The title track was inspired by a summer week that saw suicide, the transition of a relationship, and Alexi and his Father’s near death experience in a boating accident. The album pays tribute to the currents of beauty, sorrow and regret that run through our lives.

On August 16th, "Korantemaa" uploaded her first original song "By the Time You've Finished Your Coffee" to her YouTube channel. I along with 600 thousand others have listened to it, and the track is just lovely.

I decided I would challenge myself, as (many of you are unaware of this) I am a drummer, to see if I could create all of the background instruments necessary to make this a full track. I beat matched the entire song (it was not on any sort of tempo) and I think I made it sound even better than it already did. Let me know what you think.
