Two legendary figures of the hard techno scene join forces for a debut collaborative project on Soma Records as Lukas & Leo Laker present the Secret Society EP. Both active on the scene since the mid 2000s and with a huge collective discography, this latest EP has the pair firing on all cylinders for a fierce and hard hitting 4 track EP. 

Lifting the Veil opens the EP and sets the tone straight away with is fast and furious beats before Rebirth turns in a more clanking, punishing affair with its thunderous kick drums and driving, saturated synths. Rites and Rituals’ dark droning synth hook runs through the body of the track, building in intensity and backed with rolling percussion throughout. Transformation closes out the EP in brutal fashion with it’s schranz-like, hard and distorted percussion leading the charge from the off as industrial elements break up the groove adding their own rhythmical elements.

Patrick DSP is an uncompromising techno stalwart who has been smashing sound systems around the world. His style has remained energetic, raw, and powerful, no matter the current techno trends. Standing in front of a sound system while he works the decks is like standing in front of a moving train: it’s not something you’ll soon forget, but in a good way.

His extensive discography includes releases on his own Hardsignal Records as well as seminal labels like Heroes, Hydraulix, Kne' Deep, and the legendary Djax-Up Beats. His production style is inspired by his DJing: tight and thumping with a high level of energy and drive. With those kinds of bona fides, it is no surprise that he has DJed so many legendary events worldwide, spanning massive festivals like Germany's famous Love Parade, Amsterdam Dance Event, MayDay, and Awakenings, to clubs like Madrid's Fabrik, and Tresor Berlin.
Patrick started spinning records at underground raves in Canada in 1996 and quickly found himself making the music that had drawn him to DJing. Music production was a window into sonic exploration and new music technologies that led him to create everything from film scores to his signature pounding techno sounds. As he honed his skills, he also taught others how to make
music, gave advice and taught classes on music production and mastering.

After relocating to Berlin, Patrick parlayed his hard work and dedication to his craft into mastering music for other artists, eventually opening Neptune Mastering in Berlin. As an engineer with an intimate knowledge of dance music sound systems and culture, he understands how critical it is tomake a record hit hard on a dance floor. 

Whether as a DJ, producer, engineer, or just a guy who loves techno, Patrick DSP has dedicated his time and energy to techno. He's stayed true to the sound he loves the most, and whether you're listening to a record he's made or having your hair blasted back by one of his blistering DJ sets,
you know he's not holding anything back. It's full-on, it's charging, and it's real.

Marcel Fengler's agenda-setting HARDPROOF series returns to his IMF label with another well-curated mix of forward-thinking techno. The superb sixth edition features the sounds of Steve Redhead, Audloklinik, The Sixth Sense, vrov and a collaboration between OGUZ and STEYA. Few artists do hard groove and tribal techno like Swiss-born Audioklinik, another veteran who has been shaping the underground since the '90s with countless chart-topping tracks and important DJ residencies. His enthralling 'Serendipity' skates along the surface with shimmering percussive patterns and flat, forceful kicks. Tripped-out motifs up top provide wild hooks as this tribal wall of techno sweeps up everything in its path.
