Shadow Child lands his sparkling new single Friday featuring the stunning vocals of the fast rising Takura.

UK producer and DJ, Shadow Child has had a momentous 16 months, from releasing his 23 EP on own nascent Food Music imprint, the mighty So High via Moda Black to the landmark String Thing via Dirtybird.

Alongside these tracks there’s been some outstanding Shadow Child remixes for artists such as Hot Natured – Reverse Skydiving, Sub Focus – Tidal Wave, Drumsound & Bassline Smith – Through The Night, Alix Perez – Annie’s Song, Lianne La Havas – Elusive and forthcoming London Grammar – Strong.

Singer / songwriter Takura is no stranger to UK ears having collaborated with massive names such as Chase & Status, Rhianna, Plan B, Sub Focus, Example, Jack Beats and Kano. On Friday Takura delivers a huge feel-good, crossover chorus hook that complements Shadow Child’s on point, driving, deep house beats perfectly.

With Shadow Child’s and label-partner Kry Wolf, their Food Music label has grown organically as a route to release for own material and like-minded production souls. Eli & Fur with Shadow Child 'Seeing Is Believing' [Aug 2014 Defected]

House legend and Rinse FM resident Shadow Child has teamed up with Doorly on new single ‘Climbing (Piano Weapon)’, which is now available to stream on Soundcloud. Following a premiere on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show, the new vocal version of 'Piano Weapon' (co-written by MNEK) will be released by Polydor Records this November. Following a run of remixes for big names such as Hot Natured, London Grammar and most recently Duke Dumont, Shadow Child is currently working on original material and playing a run of live dates in Ibiza and across the UK including a London show supporting the legendary Groove Armada.
 
Simon Neale’s darker, bass-heavy alter ego Shadow Child was born in 2012 with the signing of his bassline house classic ‘String Thing’ to Dirtybird Records. Championed across the world by DJs including Annie Mac, Jamie Jones and Eats Everything, Shadow Child’s early house tracks have attracted a global fan base. Now playing the closing shows on his Summer 2014 tour, Shadow Child will be hitting the studio to complete his debut full-length release. Until then, head to Soundcloud to stream ‘Piano Weapon’ and get stuck into his Rinse FM guest mix series featuring the biggest names in UK house.

The South Coast of the UK has bred another 2 successful names in underground music who have joined forces to create a home for a new wave of house, bass and forward thinking creations.. Food.

The label launches with Shadow Child’s own 23 EP, 4 slices of peaktime house led by the infectious title track ‘23’, a collaboration with Tymer. Solo tracks ‘Sensible Haircut’ and ‘The Verdict pt2’ take things deeper with a more edgy sound and a rather smashing remix from label partners Kry Wolf to boot.

Support and airtime so far from notable names such as Eats Everything and Mistajam, carving out solid beginnings.
