L'Abby

Inspired by Jeff Lemire's graphic novel of the same name. I know this part of Canada well. Spent a lot of time there. It was Lemire's stark illustration that drew me in. It conveys a sense of space and isolation that I hope the music also captures.

Essex County (String Quartet and Oboe)

Dedicated to the great Roy Hargrove. Noire is the 2nd movement of a larger piece for string quartet, piano and jazz trumpet.

Destroying the world so it can be rebuilt anew is a lot of work. Even for the omnipotent. Lord Shiva gets some much-needed shut-eye. The cobra reminds us that we must be humble in our nature. And not to get too close. This piece is scored for orchestra.

Originally from Galway, Ireland, Naoise David Sheridan is a Musician/Composer based in Nashville. You will usually find him locked in the dark with only the glow of synths and the hum of amplifiers for company. He has composed music for Indie films, commercials, video games and the occasional PSA.
 
Currently he's obsessed with writing for quartets and small ensembles. To that end he has found himself a first rate composition teacher and knuckled down. 

'Celli', written for Cello Ensemble, premiered at The Music Tomorrow Festival in July 2022.
