The Silent Committee - Memento Mori (The Lost Piano)

A song written, recorded and mixed in around 2 hours in celebration of piano day 2023.

All sounds are made on my small upright piano. Some computer manipulation to make it sound like a bass or a little less percussive. It wasn't quiet in my house so you may hear the kids talking and the fridge buzzing in places...a very rough and ready recording but I'm happy.

The new album is entitled 'One Day The Sadness Will End, But I Don't Think Today Is The Day...' and is due to be released on October 27th exclusively through the projects BandCamp.

City of Reflections is the lead single and will be available to download for free on Friday October 6th and includes an extra non-album track!

The album will do all the usual TSC stuff - instruments played, sampled, broken and oddly arranged in a minimal, ambient fashion. It's been a stop start few years in the making, but overall I'm happy with the result.

I played bass for Robyn at the launch event for her EP Glass Walls last year. At the same time I started doing a remix of my favourite song from the EP. No idea if she's ever heard it or approves it, but it's here for a week unless I get asked to remove it - I wanted people to hear it. The original is also worth a listen, some very good production and backing musicians involved on the recording.

A six song  10" Vinyl EP entitled 'Imperfect Machines'

The aim of this EP was to do away with reliance on keyboards and synthesisers, instead looking at the imperfections of acoustic equipment and then manipulating it.
