In 2022 The Silvers became a three-piece recording band. Dain Bedford-Pugh (guitar and vocals), Carl Upthegrove (drums and percussion) and Mick Orton (bass, keyboards and vocals) released a new 11 original song album called “Oceans” back in October 2022. And they just released a 4 song EP entitled "Mosaic" on Revlis Records. 

To say this band is prolific is an understatement. And since their music is always evolving, and although to date they’ve hearkened back to sixties style rock and roll, their current work hopes to capture some newer sounds that will appeal to audiences of all ages.

That's The Way

The Silvers blend elements of psychedelic pop with blue-eyed soul, on their release of "Start of Something Good." This sunny mid tempo track features jangling rhythm guitar and sitar-like hooks with light piano and percussion playing overtop a stout backbeat in support of guitarist Dain Bedford-Pugh's easygoing lead vocal. Lush group backing harmonies bring this tune to life, reinforcing the topline and adding a layer of rich, savory texture to the arrangement. Incredibly optimistic lyrics convey themes of rebirth and positive change, ideas that are aptly reflected in the music itself. The Silvers' "Start of Something Good" is a refreshing throwback to a simpler time, when sun-kissed pop/rock ruled the airwaves and controlled the charts. Look for it to be included on their upcoming album, tentatively titled "Paper Street."

This uptempo track features distorted guitars and staccato piano set to a straight-ahead rock groove that's highlighted by lively drums and an animated bass line in support of singer Mick Orton's dazzling vocal delivery, with lyrics that explore themes of perseverance and determination through an optimistic and positive lens. Its celebratory mood and terrific titular hook through the chorus make The Silvers' "Another Trip Around the Sun" the perfect addition to any pop/rock birthday playlist.
