Every theater producer wishes that they could use a live orchestra for their show. There are few things as exciting as a 25-30 piece live orchestra of professional musicians to accompany a show. But for many theaters around the U.K, using a live orchestra for their productions is simply unthinkable. 

Many venues don’t have the space to fit a full orchestra. Theater orchestrations are difficult to play, and finding musicians qualified enough to play them is tremendously difficult. Add to that the cost of hiring musicians, many of which charge a high hourly rate. Add these things together, and you begin to realize that a live orchestra simply isn’t an option for hundreds of small semi-pro, community, and educational theaters around the country.

As a result, theaters often turn to local producers to create tracks for their shows. Whether it be a local project studio owner, or the director’s next-door neighbor with a digital keyboard, the results of these tracks often leave a lot to be desired.

That’s where The Sound of Musicals comes in. We are a live-instrument theatrical show track production and rental house. We utilize professional studios and musicians to record live-instrument tracks which we can then customize and lease to theaters across the country. 

By maintaining the rights to these tracks, we are able to offer them at greatly reduced rental rates, providing smaller theaters with professional-caliber tracks at close to the same price they might pay to have a synth guru create the tracks.

The Sound of Musicals uses only professional studio and orchestral musicians, and production is overseen by our staff of professional music directors, producers, and programmers. That way, you can rest assured that when a track from The Sound of Musicals arrives at your door, it’s going to sound like a million bucks.
