Hailing from Lynchburg, Virginia, LAKIM has steadily made a name for himself in the electronic scene. Bridging the gap between EDM and hip-hop with style and finesse, his sound is an ever-shifting blend of crisp drum patterns, dreamy synths, and lush vocal chops. LAKIM really started to make waves in 2012, when his stellar remixing skills caught the attention of renowned forward-thinking beat collective, Soulection.


Since then, the Virginia-native has continued to expand and evolve his style over multiple featured releases with the label and successful collaborations with fellow Soulection artists like Mr. Carmack and Esta. He’s turned a song into a movement, been the focus of the first Soulection White Label, and stayed on the tips of tongues with his remixes of popular artists and upcoming producers. A prolific producer, Lakim has released a combined twenty-five singles, EPs and albums over the past decade.  As a remixer, Lakim has added his unique sound to tracks by Janet Jackson, Banks and Cousin Stizz. His work has received praise from publications including the Fader, Vibe, and Vice and has been selected as Ebro Darden’s Beats 1 Banger and BBC 1Xtra’s Annie Mac’s Hottest Record.


Lakim’s skills as a DJ have lead to opening slots on tours by artists including Lauryn Hill, Nas, Mac Miller, and Snakehips, as well as placement on Soulection's Fall 2018 World Tour and Majestic Casual's 1st North American Tour. In addition to releasing his EP, Nightfall, in February 2018, which was followed by thousands of downloads for his Nightfall Drum Kit on sample sharing platform Splice, LAKIM continues to collaborate with other producers and rappers and has unreleased tracks with Cam’ron, A-Trak, Yung Gravy, Lil Baby, and Kemba.

Chris Mager, UK producer known as Kurus, from Surrey, currently living in Nottingham. He's come on most listeners' radar this year when he released some collaborations with up and coming artists. His work with vocalists such as Madson Project has everyone asking for more from this champion. Without question he's one of our most talented musicians and we expect big things from this artist.

Kurus's music is a concoction of sad, floaty melodies that sit on top of deep, after-hours basslines. Titled "Dreams", this artist's second EP features 4 productions channeling the vibe of his musical universe, with crisp kick drums, punchy snare hits, and floaty atmospherics emulating. The producer carres' the essence of the original composition into uncharted territory with finesse, evident in his tracks, like his excellent track produced with Too Much. His unique design of blending electronic ambience with elements of hypnotic instrumentals creates a perfect vibe of hip hop beats and chilled out sounds.

Including perfect collaborations with talented vocalists like YudN, Beth Duck and DREEZE, this album is an array of ambient melodies and captivating vocals, which is about keeping the soul and hip-hop's roots true and paying homage to the ones that helped start it. "This EP has been my most time consuming work, starting in July, creating loads of different tracks and considering loads of different sounds, but ultimately finishing with these 4 tracks, 6 months later, that I am very happy with. It’s been difficult finding the time as music is really just a hobby for me, but Im so thankful its finally all come together.I wanted a hip hop / r&b / electronic feel and think I have achieved this.
