We've been looking forward for some weeks to welcome NVST to the series. She co-runs the French label Big Science label where she dropped a sick EP early last year and had our heads spinning with her Exhausted Modern remix on Endless Illusion earlier this year. As a DJ, her savoire faire is exemplified in her sets where she isn't afraid to take the crowd out of their comfort zone. Coming from the Swiss illegal party scene, the values that move NVST's approach to DJing remains distant to conventionalisms and commercial approaches. She is a part of the Statement Crew, the “Female:Pressure” family, hosts her show on LYL Radio and does bookings for La Graviere club in Geneva. Lock in for a fearless selection of electro, breaks, and everything in between!

A music producer since 2 decades, a vinyl DJ since 1 decade and a record shop owner since 3 years, Robyrt Hecht from Leipzig, Germany has touched on almost every aspect of the underground electronic music scene. Besides his label YUYAY Records and his involvement in the now defunct label and record shop Possblthings, he is founding member of Electro label and event crew Clear Memory. Additionally he co-founded the record shop Sleeve++. He's specialised in emotive Electro and IDM/Electronica with a bunch of robotic Funk added to the mix.

For our podcast he decided not to do a DJ mix, but instead he compiled a few of his unreleased tunes, dug up from old harddrives and polished them up for you to discover and enjoy.

Which artists has influenced you the most?

- Too many to make a concise list, but to name a few: Nachtzug, James Stinson, Mad Mike, DMX Krew, Dynarec, Dave Monolith ...

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- As always, several collaboration tracks on Clear Memory are in the pipeline. Also another track on Hilltown Disco.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- I’m generally more interested in the past than the present, and I listen to most contemporary records after a while, because only then can you hear whether it's relevant or just a fad. But here, for example: I discovered the incredible work of Shook last year; the LP 'System' (EPI 018) is the perfect Future-Funk experience. Also Cygnus never disappoints.

What inspires you now to create music?

- Definitely working with my Clear Memory colleagues. We're a group of about a dozen people, half of whom are producers. Visiting their studios, working together on tracks and learning from each other is deeply inspiring.

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- I’m using a setup, which hasn't changed in probably a decade: Hardware as sound sources (Roland Alpha Juno-1, Korg MS-20, Doepfer MS404, MAM MB33, MAM VF-11 Vocoder, Yamaha E1010 Delay, …) and as a DAW I use Bitwig for composition, arrangements, FX and mixdown.

Auva Duhr is the more dancefloor minded project by the musician behind
Neugeborene Nachtmusik. As with all of his output it is hard to define
his sound simply as such or such style/genre. But Auva Duhr can possibly
be described best as post-rave with a dark mood. Only recently Auva Duhr
released his 8 track debut album (on Neurom Record). This second release
“Twilight EP” is a bit tougher and darker as the first one.

Expect to hear bits and pieces of elektro, techno, idm and rave music.
Split over different tracks but sometimes also being part of one and the
same tune. These 6 tracks are without any doubt produced for the dance
floor. But there is more to them. This is stuff for body and mind.
Meaning in short that you can trip away on these tunes while on/without
a dance floor.

Maybe this is not for everybody but we are not here to please, or
entertain, everybody. And we are confident these tracks will find their
way to dedicated dj’s, clubs and dance floors.

543ff is a producer/DJ from Amsterdam and owner of the Lazy Reflex Complex label. He is known for his diverse sound and has releases on Cultivated Electronics, Indigo Aera and many more, releasing since 2017.

"L+P-2 is Rivet's second album following his acclaimed debut, On Feather and Wire, released on Editions Mego in 2020. The wheels were already in motion for a subsequent album on the same label, but tragedy struck. Peter "Pita" Rehberg, the legendary owner of Editions Mego, suddenly passed away at only 53 years old, leaving the experimental electronic music community in a state of pitch-black grief. Rivet was among the many deeply affected by this loss. The inspiration and support from Rehberg had propelled Rivet to create at a level he himself was uncertain he had mastered. For Rivet, Rehberg's death felt like the death of music.
However, that brooding sentiment was abruptly shattered when Rivet's beloved dog and companion, Lilo, was diagnosed with incurable cancer just a couple of months later. They were inseparable, and now they would be separated nonetheless. The only way Rivet could cope with this double blow was to compose—for Lilo, for Pita, for his own sanity. L+P-2 is the result.
While the album naturally emerges from a place of despair, it's remarkably comforting. Partly, this stems from Rivet's singular ability to make machines not only sound human but also act human—sincere and warm, yet flawed. In more than one track on L+P-2, you'll encounter a distinctive melody and a gnarly bassline dancing hand in hand with Rivet's eccentric and captivating drum patterns. Then, seemingly on a whim, the melody takes off on its own, leaving the faithful bassline behind—much like a dear friend that suddenly vanishes from your life without warning. Yet life goes on, and so does the music. But never unchanged. Never.
L+P-2 is an album of lamentation, yet also of resolve—a dedication to those who go through life losing more than their share because they always carry too much.
