Tonight on ‪#‎thetalkuc‬ we will be exploring the intersectionalities of privilege. I believe it is important to understand privilege (yours and others) as you navigate through different spaces that are occupied by identities that do not necessarily align with yours. It's important to know that there is are different degrees of oppression that everyone has and understand that fishbowl critiques/ solutions do not work. As we move forward towards our beloved community at @Uofcincy we must do so thoughtfully through awareness and education. These tough and, often times, uncomfortable conversations are necessary to having breakthroughs of consciousness. These conversations should be occurring daily within all communities to actively work to bridge these various communities together. First, by seeking to understand; then, seeking to be understood. Agape, Awareness, Education and Activation will create sustainable change.
