I got to play this set at a special gathering we held called Metamorphosis. My intention for this journey was to guide others through the beauty of their own caterpillar.

I dedicate this set to one of the greatest Teachers I've ever known. Some people call it the darkness, the shadow... everyone relates to it differently. For me, I would not know the depths of my soul if it wasn't for all the inner challenges and struggles. For my wings wouldn't have been able to hold my hearts deepest creations. 

Thank you to those who have done me wrong, thank you to the wounds I carry, thank you to the darkness that hovers over my mind, thank you to the hot tears that I have released into the fires, thank you to the anger, to the madness, to the frustrations and sadness,

For without you, I would not have found my eternal lightness <3

The first release from Rob Garza's Magnetic Moon imprint, Palace of Mirrors features six tracks inspired by the fields of Oaxaca, Mexico, travels through Mumbai, and the transcendentalism that follows.

“Re Mana” features Mumbai-based vocalist Vasuda Sharma hailing who Rob connected with through Andy MacKaye of Bombay Dub Orchestra during his travels in India. Her voice is ethereal and otherworldly, floating on in with a dark-tech house groove. The first remix features Rob’s fellow DC natives, Nadastrom, keeping it deep and sexy with the second remix by UK-based Psychemagik offering up a stellar tripped out floor-groover. “Palace of Mirrors” also features Vasuda, bringing a beautiful and lush transcendental house vibe while the fields of Oaxaca-inspired “Blue Agave Fields” captures the deep bass of a desert-like dub atmosphere. “Hide the Sunlight” features the voice of Tenerife resident Sutja Gutiérrez, a friend met virtually after a heartfelt message online - a true testament to the kismet of the modern music industry. Sutja’s voice and the track’s instrumentation will have you vibing out with their 90’s underpinnings, rounding out this inaugural offering from Magnetic Moon.

ROAD TO BAMAKO: in just a few days, the ElectrAfrique caravan will be headed to Bamako for our 6th event in the Malian capital... This is a trip back to the roots for us... having kept the show going throughout the ups and downs that the country has known for the last few years... it's been a priority to keep coming back to Bamako, a city we love, to bring pan-African dance music that unites, and to take our Malian fam and friends on a musical journey across the country and to the extremes of the Continent. 

This edition is co-produced with OkayAfrica and Carrefour Creatif, teaming up with very special guest Inna Modja, who will be back home for the occasion, and the brother Abou Denon, the maestro of the Bamakois club scene, along with myself... expect a deep and powerful journey along these DJ vibrations...
