This is a fishing story about a talking fish named Steve.  One of my dreams was that this song would be recorded by Jimmy Buffett.  After all, I do live and play music pretty close to Key West, Florida.  I mean, it could happen, right.  It would be the perfect Jimmy Buffett song.  But he hasn't called yet.  So, you trop-rockers out there - time to go fishing.  You just might catch a big one!

"Mother Trucker" is the story of truck driving Bertha.  She's got seven sons and one very lovely daughter.  Her old man, Virgil, left her and the kids, and went looking for a better job.  He was never heard from again.  Now Bertha is looking for Virgil.  And when she finds him, there'll be hell to pay.

What can I say?  A man, a woman, a dog, and a truck!  "Nothing Like A Good Dog" is destined to be a country song.  Maybe not new era country-rap, but a good old fashioned country sounding story song with a moral to it, "there's nothing like a good dog".

"One Dead Man" tells the story of every working man's life.  You put in your 30 some years, take care of the wife and family, pay your bills, and then just wait around to die.  It just ain't right.  But nobody said life was fair.  In the end, everyone just stands around waiting to see what they get out of you.

           Who wanted what they didn't want to share

           I'm already dead now in a number of ways

"One Good Woman" says it all!  Hey guys, isn't that what it's all about.  This song has a groove to it.  The funny little part with the genie talking in his genie voice is completely optional.  I'd leave it in for effect (but that's me).  Another male vocal story song that rolls along as smooth as the back seat of a Lincoln Town Car.

Male vocals, solo or band.  This guy couldn't beat the system (even with a lawyer).  So, he's heading to jail in 48 hours.   But before he goes, he's going to party down with his woman.

"Willie Boy" is a straight-forward story song with a little humor thrown in.  A light rock, easy flow, accompanies the lyrics.  Also, an easy to sing and memorable melody.  Maybe a little autobiographical.  Luckily, I'm still here to tell the story.

          "Willie was a boy with a funny looking bullet head
            He walked like a duck and he never slept in a bed
            People would laugh when they saw him coming
            Some would hide and some would start running
            'Cause Willie Boy was always broke and looking for some bread"

Do you remember any of the great J.D. Souther songs like "New Kid In Town" (Eagles)?  "Lonely World" is The Tiki Seekers attempt at capturing that same feeling.  'Love, isolation, loneliness, yearning'.  It's part of that innocence that we go through on love's journey while we're young.  It's a great experience, but often painful.  What would life be without those memories.

Lonely World

Very seldom does a song of this quality come along.  One in a million I'd say.  Seriously!  "Man On The Street" has universal appeal.  It could be you, it could be me, it could be anyone.  Someone needs to step up and grab this and run with it.  Male or female artist, solo or band.  Check out the chorus and you'll understand.  Just remember, "Everybody's got a brother when it come to their dying day".

Man On The Street

"The Valley Of Dreams" is a true Gospel Rock song.  There's a big market out there for this type of song, and not a lot quality to fill the void.  It's hard bringing 'the message' and the music together without losing the 'cool factor'.  I think this song has it all.  A little americana/bluegrass zip along with great lyrics.  A change of tempo intro and outro, with fast beat verses.  Take it to the people!

"Oh Why" takes you back to your school days.  It may sound a little 'Beach Boys' like, but that's the style of the song.  In this story, the school year ends and a boy and girl go their separate ways for the summer.  They vow to meet up again come next school year.  But it doesn't happen.  He returns to school, and his girl is nowhere to be found.  Of course he's bummed out.  But life goes on!

               "She went away for the summer
                 we never did meet again
                 what could have happened, how I wonder
                 she said we'd be together when
                 the leaves were in the air and all our friends were there
                 but here I sit alone
                 school is such a drag this fall
                 I wish I would have stayed at home"
