Listen To The Silence

Phantasy Island is 3.5 nautical miles north west of Gillian's Island. 

Seriously this is the first time I have ever tried to record an orchestral piece.  All sounds are from Eastwest's Fantasy Orchestra. Via my keyboard I am playing all of the melody instruments. Band-in-a-Box is supplying the balance of the tracks, some I modified to better fit the song, using my sound sources.

You be the judge on how well I did.

Chasing Your Memnory

You are sitting in a lawn chair, feet in the sand, drink in your hand, watching the ocean waves come to shore, and listening to the birds chirping. A short distance behind you is a tiki bar where a few local musicians are playing. The music is so good it seems like the breeze is in tune with the song. This is Paradise Island.

I am playing my nylon string guitar and via my keyboard controller the marimba. Band-in-a-Box is supplying the balance of the tracks using my sound sources.

FYI - Some listeners were expecting a song like this on my previous song, Phantasy Island, and were shocked that it wasn't.  Thus I though that I should redeem myself ASAP!

The sun in the morning at my back

Played midnight songs for the drunks and losers
Waited for dawn with the coffee boozers
Wrote some lyrics about shakers and movers
How they burned out just for fun
It was a flash and a bang when I was 21

Now I pass these roads from time to time 
The sun gets tangled in the power lines
I roll the window down shift to drive
But the past just fades and comes undone
Seemed easy like breathing when I was 21

Another scandal another war
   The news reminds us we're not special anymore
   My own horizon, just a barren sea
   There ain't much colour  besides black and grey and green

   Another road ahead, another place to grow 
   Watching all the stories come and go
   They package up the wonder, sell the dream

    The war within was meant to be   
    Lost somewhere but I began to see
    The script is old, the actors   change
    But we’re still stuck on the same  old stage
