FULL DESCRIPTION
This bad boy is a product of my frustration with the powers that be in this country, continuing to pull the wool over the eyes of it's people. They fill our ears and eyes with lies and deception through media control, 
whilst putting a strangle hold on minorities, 
sucking the life out of our precious natural environment squeezing every last drop for monetary gain, 
and brainwashing the population by feeding us Neurotoxins through the water supply.
The current system just doesn't work, it only serves the elite few, and if you disagree, well you are gravely mistaken my friend.
We, the majority, need to wake up and realize we are toads in the pot, and the water is slowly boiling, the time has come that we must stand as one and tell the powers that be, that, this current situation will not suffice and we demand radical change! 
My message is this; 
NEVER STOP QUESTIONING EVERYTHING! WE ALL HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO OUR LAND AND EACH OTHER! INFORM YOURSELVES! BUT MOST OF ALL, LOVE ONE AND OTHER! THE ENEMY IS NOT AMONGST US, ITS ABOVE US! 
REFUSE TO WEAR THE SHOES THEY TELL YOU TO WEAR!




Shoe Boycotter

Last year, Xani Kolac (electric violin/vocals/songwriter) began working on THE TWOKS + STRINGS - a project featuring twelve string players performing re-arrangements of The Twoks' art-pop songs and instrumental tracks live. After the success of this performance at The Gasometer Hotel (see video), Xani began work on other exciting collaborative projects blending her art-pop sensibilites with contemporary classical. 

Melbourne is jam-packed with talented and innovative musicians and Xani has spent the past twelve months working with a bunch of her favourite players to re-arrange her pop tunes into beautiful, epic compositions. The Twoks, with Mark Leahy on drums, have gone from electric violin and drums duo to mixed ensemble blurring the lines between pop and classical, jazz and improvisation. 

The latest result is COLLAB: Vol. 1 - a collaboration between The Twoks and contemporary classical piano trio, SOLSTICE. The COLLAB series is about challenging the contructs of genre and putting two distinctly different ensembles together in the recording studio.

Engineered and mixed by Myles Mumford at the beautiful and rustic Rollingstock Recording Rooms, COLLAB: Vol. 1 features three of Xani's compositions; each track explores a different aspect of the collaboration between The Twoks + Solstice.

Track 1: "Adagio"

Originally composed for twelve-piece string orchestra, "Adagio" is the prelude to The Twoks' latest release, "Happy Endings". This version was arranged for two violins, cello, piano and percussion. Xani performs on acoustic violin for this performance.

Track 2: "Miniatures 1 & 2"

Xani composed a series of Miniatures inspired by Chilly Gonzales' 2015 release, "Chambers". Xani composed these Miniatures specificaly for Solstice blending pop sensibilities with contemporary classical techniques. These excerpts are performed solely by Solstice.

Track 3: "Scalpel"

With a love for and training in jazz and improvisation, Xani composed "Scalpel" to encourage Solstice Trio to improvise as contemporary classical instrumentalists. Influenced by "Flight of the Bumble Bee", this composition is fast and fun to play. It features The Twoks in full flight with improvisations.

To launch this recording, The Twoks will perform at Bennett's Lane Jazz Club with Solstice and special guest, electric cellist, VAUDREY. This will be a wonderful night of music featuring improvisation and electric strings.

THE TIMBERS’ thumping rhythms and big misty mountain melodies will cast you away to the sweaty, smoky, melting-pot of roots, folk, and celtic bushman brassy punk. Their explosive start in the Adelaide music scene is worthy recognition of this bands ability to marry exceptional musicianship with highly accomplished songwriting. Hailing from far away lands such as Mount Gambier, Tasmania, Ireland, and the Adelaide Hills, the members have worked tirelessly together to create a unique high energy musical experience.  
Their style has a distinctive alternative folk flavor reminiscent of musical influences such as The Pogues, Graveyard Train, Flogging Molly, The Mountain Goats, and Mumford and Sons. Their raucous live performances, relevance and musicianship gives them the drive and determination to aspire to the accomplishment of those mentioned as muses.  Their instrumentation sets them apart from most other young acts featuring banjo, trumpet, mandolin, acoustic guitars, trombone, 4 part vocal harmony and an array of instruments played with feet.  
Their debut EP ‘Greet the Sun’ was very well received and was a regular in the 3D radio 20+1 Charts since its release in March 2011. “I could see myself getting drunk and slapping my knee to this” (Gregg Donovan – Manager Airbourne, Grinspoon, Josh Pyke). Their second self titled EP will be released early in 2013.  
 THE TIMBERS have toured regularly with shows in VIC, NSW, NT, and QLD. They have played countless music festivals in Adelaide and interstate including Caloundra Music Festival (Qld), Anglesea Music Festival (Vic) and Wide Open Spaces (NT), and supported acts such as The Audrey’s, The Beards, Ben Salter, The Twoks, Woohoo Revue, and Jordie Lane. 
Their dynamic and passionate approach to performing has made them a “must see” act on the Adelaide live music scene. With loyal and enthusiastic fans, growing with each gig, their reputation and fan base is ever increasing with their appeal not confined to a single age bracket. Watching a Timbers show, leaves you feeling alive yet exhausted, inspired yet overwhelmed, but by and large excited about the future of Australian music.
