You know the saying. The cream rises to the top? There are some key members of the Dj and collector community that get recognized more and more as time goes on. Not only for their knowledge about electronic music and their taste in tunes but also their no-frills attitude and focus on DJing as a whole. Estimulo is one of those handful. A former member of the futura event agency and DJ crew from Berlin with a desire to also release music as a label owner with Mixomat Recordings. Heavily passionate about radio since a being young child has led to many variations of shows dedicated to the music he supports and follows. Most recently, a weekly Radio Show (EstimuloShow @ mixomat.org since 2007, also on Cashmere Radio since 2017) kept him busy. Having played many key clubs throughout Europe while sharing the nightly bills with a who's who's list of some of the best underground names in house and techno isn't a surprise. As a DJ, Estimulo is more in tune with the deeper and soulful side of things. He approaches mixing uniquely with no pre-planned mixes favoring an expression of honesty and desire to play what he wants versus a goal of perfect but often stale mixing. Lately, he has taken to many streaming platforms DJing live with other hardcore music aficionados in marathon long mixing sessions. To say Estimulo contributes to every facet of the electronic music community would be an understatement. With some 30 years' worth of experience, knee deep into the sound of the underground, you can expect his selections to impress even the die-hards. Idit has DJed, ran monthly parties and bookings for several clubs over the course of the last 20 years. From cutting her teeth at her Tel Aviv party Later with local residents and friends Niv, Benji and Ofri, she has since graced the decks of Panorama Bar and Tresor. Next month she’ll be making her London debut, so can’t wait for that!

Idit’s DJ style encompasses all things deep from dub tinged house, broken beat and smooth techno sounds so you’ll be treated to a slick selection from Idit, recorded exclusively for my show.

Estimulo started his career on Berlin's pirate radio scene in the late 1980s, and is nowadays one of the most respected underground house DJs in Europe.

With a special focus on Deep, Bleep, Chicago & Italian house sounds, he has released many celebrated mixtapes and podcasts over the years, recently turning heads with his contribution to @melbourne-deepcast & backing it up with his first trip to Australia in early 2023.

Known as a "DJ's DJ" across many realms of classic dance music, I owe my love of Italian House, Bleeps & Breaks, and several other subgenres to this man, and it was an honour to host him for 2 separate events in Brisbane.

The first was at our secret location (pictured), which sadly was not recorded. Then we made last-minute plans for a Thursday night party at this rad West End venue called It's Still A Secret.

Owain recently played at our Avenue Red event held at The Loco Klub in Bristol in March 2023, which turned into an incredible 4-hour B2B session with Avenue Red frontman Alec Pritchard. It was recorded and released as part of our Live Sessions series (link below) and the response to this collaboration was very positive!

Owain's first studio mix for our main podcast series is as masterful as it is long overdue... it's a seamless, perfectly paced blend of trippy, melodic, grooving deep house & techno. Get it on!
