KEEP ON is a weekly Sunday party run by long-time DJs and music aficionados David Barbarossa and OOFT! in La Cheetah club Glasgow. Each week they delve into their extensive record collections to bring you an authentic sound track of deep disco, 80s boogie, Balearic, nice house, and assorted Global flavours. Running the vinyl through a nice hand-built rotary mixer elevates the vibe. The party has been running for close to 2 years now, so if you need a Sunday dance you know where to go.

London’s Slothboogie started life as a blog that threw parties – and now, some 15 years on,  it’s grown into anything but slothful record label that’s approaching it 50th release.  The trio behind it, Pat, Danny & Conor, are celebrating a decade and a half of Slothboogie existence with a new comp, and kindly completed this exclusive mix for you, our beloved followers…  Let it roll.

Slothboogie is regarded as a bit of an institution, the long running London based record label and party series has been responsible for releasing forward thinking music which has helped push a new wave of artists and dj’s in the pursuit of dancefloor enlightenment.

House music underpins a lot of what Slothboogie is and what they do.

Founded in 2010 as a blog, it quickly evolved in to something far greater and now the collective are widely regarded as selectors in their own right.

SlothBoogie is a vibrant cultural force—championing underground electronic music with a holistic approach that spans curation, release, performance, and community building.

There 15 year anniversary is accompanied by the release of a new compilation which they are celebrating with a launch party in London at Cafe 1001 this evening.

Slothboogie: The Ransom Note Mix

It feels quite surreal to say this, but Episode 03 of the Balearic London mix series is brought by none other than Italo house legend Don Carlos. Starting his DJ career in the late 70s, he is best known for his production debut 'Alone'. Widely known as the epitome of what dream house is, the track combines emotive piano chords, crisp percussion, and ethereal pads in what is beautifully floaty yet perfectly punchy perfection. Since then he's released more underground hits under his own name as well as his Montego Bay and Aquanauts monikers. He isn't just a legend of the 90s though, his releases in the recent years on Freerange Records, Utopia, Irma Records, and remixes on Wolf Music and more show that his music sounds as fresh now as ever.

Session Victim need little introduction - the German duo of Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling have been consistent providers of quality house grooves, vinyl only DJ sets (the best, obviously) and hardware only live shows.  Their current EP trilogy for Jimpster's Delusions of Grandeur label is a prime example, with Ian Pooley and Jimpster providing remixes and the likes of Nebraska, Eo and Viken Arman collaborating on the originals.  Here, the pair celebrate the series with a special mixtape...

Since his last mix @qjmpls has been continuing to throw vinyl focused parties in Minneapolis with two crews which he co-runs, hifipopup (co-run with @mikepifer) and wax_appeal (co-run with conor_mcginnis - @spinzone_radio). hifipopup were able to lock-in a monthly residency at motoisake, where they transform Moto-i’s second floor sake speakeasy into an all vinyl HiFi bar with their vintage Klipsch sound system. Wax Appeal are continuing to throw record exchanges in Minneapolis and have also started throwing events in Chicago as Conor has recently moved there.
