Wild Years

Lyrically, I wrote this song in recognition of my parents who have just passed the 50 year marriage mark, however when I visit them I always feel a sense of sadness.  Not for them, for myself; as if time is passing too quickly. Their home is filled with memories of their 50 years together, original photos, quiet after raising children, dusty trinkets that I find pointless to hold onto.  So many memories, it's almost overwhelming.  But what I love about my parents is that they still have dreams and aspirations.  My Dad is building a boat! My Mum is becoming a mini-celebrity in her Playwright/Acting world. They still have so many adventures together. 

Musically, I wanted this song vintage sounding. I love the Mamas and Papas 60's Baroque style.  I also love Music Hall, Parlor Music, Gershwin etc. and tried musically to capture some of those nuances.  I always struggle with genres ... you tell me what you think it is!!  This is a romantic love song, but at the same time I wanted people to tap their toes. Did I manage it?
