Made to be played. An early Mason composition, Cash Cart was updated to its current uber-melodic state in the winter of 2014 and was executed with typical aplomb by The United Planets. Recorded in August of 2014, this track will be on the Planets' upcoming album release [coming in early 2015].

DC Bias makes use of a simple, long-tone melody over shifting harmonies, underpinned by a dynamic, funk-heavy bass and drum groove.  Contrasting solo sections incorporate a thus far little used but well loved 6/8 pattern, and a straight 8th beat invoking an almost wild west Clint Eastwood vibe.  Guitar work by Ben Payne and Rob Grieve, drums by Robin Watson, Andrew Mason on bass.

Style-bending, out-funk acolytes The United Planets uniquely blend elements of funk, jazz, hiphop, rock, and contemporary improvisation. The 4-piece instrumental ensemble renders modern yet classic writing with lyrical pop-esque melodies, jazz inspired harmony, searing solos, and ground level beats drawing from modern funk and R&B influences. Bassist/Composer Charles Andrew Mason leads the aural attack, aided and abetted by Robin Watson [drums], Ben Payne [guitar] and Robert Ogilvie Grieve [guitar].  The ensemble is mixing its first full length album, to be released early in 2015.
